Just to protect the worst team in the top flight. Morals absolutely out the window. The reconstruction voted on was Livingstone's plan. They spend lots of time in the lower leagues. Not sure they would propose something that would damage themselves and other lower league clubs.

Every member had the right to negotiate it's vote for the proposal if it wasn't quite happy with it. Dundee just had a smarter negotiating plan. Remember that Dundee's negotiation got Hearts two bites at the reconstruction cherry, which is far more than Hearts would ordinarily expect. Had Dundee not voted that way, then ICT or Thistle could have been persuaded with something else instead, and it may not have been to Hearts' liking (like maybe some lucrative friendlies or something). Normal everyday carelessness. Half the SPFL desk jockeys are likely unaware that the email quarantine zone exists on their mailserver just so happens that phoning up Dundee to ask 'Have you voted yet?' came to mind before 'Let's check if the email's gone astray somewhere in the bowels of the IT system'. If I'm expecting an email, that would be my first response. No. If any championship vote ended up in quarantine - yes or no - it would have been the deciding vote. That means that if a vote goes into quarantine, at least, 1/4 of the time, it would have been a deciding vote. That's not a statistical oddity, that's mere happenstance. To get the vote over and done with, of course. Wow, you REALLY like Doncaster. Most normal people wold accept that if you're running an email vote you have IT on hand and you check your spam and whatever other systems you have in place BEFORE announcing the vote. The one that was going to screw the lower league teams just to protect Hearts. i.e. morals out the window.

No most normal people don’t rake about in these looking for missing votes from regular correspondents - they just say we don’t seem to have your vote yet?

Most people don't think about centralised mailserver email quarantine systems - the blockage for a missing email is more likely at the sender end and the SPFL got in touch with the senders before proceeding to announce the vote. But why are you relitigating this tedious shit yet again? We already know that the independent inquiry, the SPFL EGM AND the arbitration panel all gave the SPFL a clean bill of health on this issue. What do you expect do dig up that hasn't been gone over a million times before, and which hasn't been debunked by everyone who's actually in the know. What do you hope to gain from arguing a position you already know to be wrong? Edited August 6, 2020 by Aim Here

Hold on, our fans care enough about our club that we give it 150k a month anyhow. And our owner cares enough that all costs and fines are being paid without fans being asked for a penny. So, we're good thanks. Apart from the whole unfair demotion thing. That's still a shitter. Why should the fans of Hearts have to give 150k every month to keep the club that's sinking down the leagues afloat? That's crazy, they have enough season ticket holders and fans through the gates to be self sufficient without the need for fans pumping their money in and begging well off people for donations all done before the pandemic hit. What do you get for giving them the third biggest budget in our game, relegation. If you have beef with clubs and associations that's fine. Maybe though you should ask why the supporters that bad mouth every team who dont get 19k supporters every home game or who won't spend until the go into administration, why they don't feel the need to ask serious questions about the running of their own club. Third biggest budget and they're in the championship on merit. Failed season, failed Cos case, failed arbitration, failed reconstruction to save themselves, failed managers, poor signings and still their fans have been blindsided by their own board in to thinking everyone else is to blame.

A group of absolute morons who are completely blinded by loyalty. Edited August 7, 2020 by RandomGuy.

Hearts season last year has to be one of the biggest failures in Scottish football history, if not the biggest.Struggling to think of another example of underachievement on such a huge scale. Rangers failing to win the second tier under McCoist probably the only thing that comes close.

The Great Stagsby
Thank goodness this 8games chap has returned and got this thread back on track. Allows me to share a piece I have spent the last week working on in the background: There once was a team from Edinburgh. Who were no better at football than I am at Haikus.

They've been cutting it every season for about the past 5 year so it'll be substantially lower than the figure in that graph as that's a mix from 17/18 & 18/19. Over these years they still had quite a few big earners on the books so it won't be near as drastic a cut. They'll still be the ones absolutely fucked by it though.
