Romeo
I detect a slight change in the mood of Hearts supporters who seemed to have convinced themselves this would all work out in the end. But it won't. Nae luck.

Sometimes you need to remove the tinfoil hat to see what is right in front of you.............or perhaps stop believing itk wallopers from kickback? You think he's maybe sold that as part of the solution? It was worth £2m pa. You reckon SKY have got an undeclared refund of a few years at £2m pa?. So, not just me in the tin foil hat then. Welcome aboard Green Day - thought I was in a Minority, or even the only Basket Case with this Grouch. It is very obvious from what I wrote that I was describing how Doncaster posited one potential solution to the money owed from the cutting short of last season. Which he did. Which was nothing to do with any made up "£2m per annum" nonsense that is rattling about your skull. I think you need some professional help.
ropy
If this isn’t killed off on Monday is it likely that the SPFL will explain how they think a 14 team league will work.
Green Day
Partick Thistle statement, with added "self interest bingo" game included - I have bolded one, but there are many more................ Saturday 13th June, 2020 at 12:30pm “We have kept our counsel during current discussions and debate about reconstruction. It may prove to be the ultimate exercise in futility but this may be our last opportunity to speak out. “If there is no change to the current set up, Partick Thistle will be the Scottish club hardest hit in professional football as the new season starts. “Despite being relegated in an arbitrary fashion – with a game in hand and only two points behind our nearest rivals – we stand ready, willing and able to play, including behind closed doors. But today, we still don’t know when or even if we will play football next season. “Does anyone in Scottish football believe we deserve to be punished with a double whammy like this? Which club would find it acceptable if they were in our shoes? Not one of them. “Clubs need to think carefully about what their indicative vote to the SPFL will be on Monday and what will inform that decision. Everyone needs to reflect on their motives and thoughts behind their next step. “Let’s be blunt in our plea to fellow clubs so that there’s no misunderstanding. Use this opportunity to do something positive for our game – right the wrongs done to us and a number of other clubs. “We all want to protect our own club; Thistle is no different. But there’s a difference between that and self-interest, which seeks to protect a perceived advantage created by an unforeseen crisis. “Don’t use your vote to settle old scores. Don’t reinforce rivalries between clubs just to keep fans happy. Don’t turn a blind eye because it doesn’t impact on you – this time. “Recognise there will be far-reaching consequences of your actions for Thistle and everyone associated with the club. If that doesn’t matter to you, then focus on doing the right thing for Scottish football. If this vote collapses because people cannot set aside self-interest and ego, our game potentially faces irreparable damage and ongoing division for many years to come. “At a time unparalleled in footballing history, countries throughout Europe have re-jigged their league set ups to protect the whole – we have the opportunity to do the same. “For Thistle, if proposed reconstruction fails, the consequences of the actions visited on us by fellow clubs will be long term and serious. We will prevail because “that which does not kill us makes us stronger” but not before we suffer more pain and financial harm than is necessary or fair. “We believe it is time for clubs to show solidarity with us as we arbitrarily and disproportionately bear the brunt of the damage being done to our game due to circumstances that are no-one’s fault. “Our plea is simple: choose to do no harm.” Chairman Jacqui Low on behalf of the Board of Partick Thistle FC

No chance. Rather than buying time for a sensible discussion, it would just have caused weeks of debate about what the temporary reconstruction should look like - which of course we had anyway. And numerous other clubs have voted against other proposals on the basis that they were only temporary. There is just no way that would have passed. I don't know where you get the 3 relegation spots from . Nothing would have needed to change as regards the bottom league .

As would Hearts/Stranraer. "Choose to do no harm" indeed. I hope we are quite determined in harbouring a grudge. parsforlife
It’s good to see Partick re-joining the statement game. For too long they have let hearts do the heavy lifting for the cry baby club, and today’s statement goes some way to re-adjust that balance. Whilst it does come out with some excellent statements the general utter desperation throughout makes it a great read. They are begging other clubs to vote for them.
yoda
You've got to admire the brass neck of shitkickers like Hearts and Partick Thistle: Quote Stop acting out of self-interest and start acting in our interests; it's not fair Fortunately Uncle Roy OBE is here to put them back in their box. Just like when he forced Wiggy Milne back to Aberdeen with his tail between his legs, sobbing about the injustice of it all.

The funny thing is that like Heart of Seethelothian, Partick have had a massive advantage over the teams around them at their end of the league yet still found themselves at the bottom. It's almost like these teams are using this to try and avoid accepting their failures.
