Is my memory playing tricks or has McClaren not previously applied for a few jobs in Scotland?

Yeah, he was linked to Hearts in 2017 but he ended up taking a job at Maccabi Tel Aviv and Levein hired himself instead. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40849646

Fair play if it's McClaren, a box office appointment with some superb ready-made smileys. prettygood.png

Genuinely no idea if he will sign or not dude. All I've heard about him potentially joining was that at his interview he wants someone close to the club as assistant/coach.

His first signing had better be Safranko.

Hes been the England manager. If hes still sane after that I don't think the Scottish Sun and p***k Young of BBC Scotland will pose much threat to him. They'll be up his arse to get as many stories as possible.

Just think, "Steve, big game tomorrow, home debut and with some interesting signings made since you were appointed. There really is only one question to ask, what was it like picking Steven Gerrard to play for England?"

64 wins in 124 games over his two spells at Derby, 31 defeats. That's a very healthy record in an incredibly competitive division . 30 wins and 16 defeats in his second, unsuccessful, spell at Twente. There have been poorer spells elsewhere but to suggest that his last ten years have all been poor is just nonsense.

How did he do with Ingurlund? Cant really recall him as manager, what tournament did he get knocked out of?

Didn't qualify. Was Sven's assistant(while manager of Middlesbrough) but defeated by Croatia, I think, meant they missed out on European Championships.

Bit of a mindfuck that McClaren was even quoted for the United job, for it to be odds on that he gets the job is off the scale. Helluva coup getting him, if solely for the fact that it keeps a confirmed bigot away from the job.

What a game that was. Watched it with some English mates in a pub near Reading. They couldn't believe they lost. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for a week!
