Yeah sounds mental to suggest a civil war, but the way its a proper "helms deep" moment for me, one guard shits himself and shoots...

Exactly. How do they disperse this without it kicking off and if it does kick off where does that lead.

If it kicks off it will lead to a swift and brutal takedown.

They can call on themselves 'enacting the will of 80m Americans' all they like but this is most certainly not the case. If it was the case there would be hundreds upon hundreds of thousands on the streets of DC rather than a few thousand extremists. The overwhelming majority of those '80 million' Republicans and republican leaning centrists will be fucking horrified at this and will want no part of a civil war.

Quote

Swarms of protesters roamed the halls, taking photos and breaking into offices. A man was smoking pot in a room where there were photos of mountains and maps of Oregon on the wall. A man put a framed photo of the Dalai Lama in his backpack. A man in a leather jacket ripped a scroll with Chinese characters.

Trump is going to learn very quickly how easily and swiftly his party can and will distance themselves from him.

Despite his ego and self belief, he's not bigger than the republican party, he does have loyal blind supporters but not nearly as many as he thinks.

He literally won a Republican primary from outside the party. The Republicans who were previously lurched even further into the right-wing nuttersphere by the Tea Party movement and birtherism.

The best possible outcome of this is that they will split into two equally hostile factions, like Teddy Roosevelt's similar politics-by-ego experiment at the start of the twentieth century. The most likely one is that a marginally less repulsive figure than Trump swans in as the great unifier to stomp all over Crooked Kamala in 2024.

Our very own Tintin is on the case.

Even though he is a fictional character he is ten times the reporter Kuenssberg tries to be.
