The US Presidential election prediction thread

Even if it's not an empty threat they will not successfully impeach him. You need 2/3 in the senate - effectively a third of republican senators would need to vote to impeach him, which will not happen. Any republican who breaks with trump is putting a target on their own back, both in terms of a primary challenge as well as in the literal sense that these nutcases might view them as fair game for violence.
Far more likely than either impeachment or the 25th amendment is that the majority of these guys think he's as mad as any of the democrats do, but they'll calculate that the worst is over, there's only two weeks until he's gone anyway, and events would suggest Pence is de facto in charge anyway. They'll consider it far better to keep their heads down and hope nothing else goes badly wrong before the inauguration.
Nope. If the House votes in favour, he is impeached. The Senate is where they try him once impeached. Last year he was impeached ut the Senate effectively found him not guilty.

They're going to rehabilitate Mike Pence aren't they

I cant see any way that Pence and Trump have any semblance e of a working relationship now, after what Trump called him the other day, and how he basically put Pence in harms way.

And his family who were in the Senate gallery. This tweet is by a Reuters photographer which lends it some credibility maybe.

Sure, but they don't need to do that in the next two weeks. They may be able to impeach him after leaving office, and section 3 of the 14th amendment says you can't be elected to federal office if you have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the constitution of the US, or given aid or comfort to the enemies of the US.
I just don't think it's worth the risk of what will appear to tens of millions as a partisan witch-hunt by people who stole the election.

Be assured that this problem isn't going away anytime soon. Trump and his spawn can be kettled in Mar del Lago for the next few weeks but thereafter there will be a queue of bameroos forming to plug Biden. That needs to be prevented, but that prevention shouldn't include soft pedalling on Trump. But it likely will.

If it gets that far. Trumpists including the Proud Boys are trying the arrange a "million militia march" on Washington on 20 January to prevent Biden being inaugurated, to get Trump sworn in again and to stay and fight any leftists. There won't be a million of them but there could be thousands, and these guys will be armed to the teeth. They're forming themselves into regiments.

At the risk of angering those who maybe place a higher value on the sanctity of human life than I do... lol.

I honestly don't think it would matter to me what side this guy was on in any matter. That's funny regardless.

Trump now saying that he wont attend the inauguration. Probably because there will be loads of US marshals there ready to arrest him as soon as he is no longer president.
Guaranteed that Pence will attend now, just for the GIRFUY.

Also lets any nutters go all out knowing their idol won't be there.

Re the chat earlier on about trumpets feeling betrayed:

Trumps lawyers being sued by the makers of the dominion voting machines to the tune of 1.3 billion 🤣

Not even lawyers, solely Powell. So they’ve obviously got the briefs out working out if she called us arseholes x times at x amount of reputational damage, that makes $1.3bn. So they’ll use the same formula on anyone else that’s defamed them to come to a figure and if the judge says they think that amount is less, then they can use the judge’s amount as precedent going forward. Fucking chef’s kiss. Oh!
