Israel v Scotland - 18 / 11 / 2020

Recommended Posts

Stevie Clark is no saviour.

Scraped into the euros via new back door. Not much improvement tbh since he took over!

It’s a fantastic achievement and all that... but to qualify we won a group with Israel and Albania in it and then won a penalty shoot out against Israel and another penalty shoot against Serbia.

All very well saying he’s the first manager to qualify since 19canteen, but no other has had such an easy qualification route open to them.

Clarke is totally inept.  He has some very good players available, a luxury other managers would have killed for over the past few years., yet he serves up this garbage.

how the f**k is he totally inept man????

I know there will be the usual overreaction, as there is every international game, but the performance wasn’t really an issue there IMO. We played well enough to win that, we just didn’t get the breaks.

Slightly worried that our front three pressed inconsistently and exposed our midfield too often. And leaving McTominay to defend 1 on 1 is suboptimal.
Let’s hope that Clarke recognises that some of the deadwood in the squad needs cleared out - Burke & Griffiths aren’t capable of playing international football at the minute.
Dykes had a poor game overall tonight. Nothing stuck with him the way it normally does. Christie also kept making the wrong decision and McGinn just looked knackered. Armstrong and Fraser should be first choice there with Dykes.
Positives are O’Donnell and McGregor looked good, and Jack and Gallagher were fine.

Important to remember this team is still developing and it’ll take time for things to gel. Players are still learning how to play in the system and with each other.

I think Dykes is worth persisting with but he needs someone up beside him to feed off him.

A cannibal!?

There's some folk on here who seem to have the emotional maturity of a toddler given the wild over reactions tonight and on Thursday.

Some folk had us in the quarter finals of the Euros Thursday night and some folk have us getting absolutely pumped in every game now.

Tonight was disappointing and fairly poor, but we've still a long way to go and plenty of time to sort things.

Calm it down.

i wouldnt say its been easy , yes he had another crack at qualification but he got us there, we cant take that away from him , the fact we went away from home and qualified is very good too with a very good performance and you have to remember he can still improve this team.

people keep banging on about tactics, tactics have nothing to do with us having 4 good chances and not taking 1

Has the next euro draw been confirmed to be determined from nations league seeding already?

They did for Euro 2020 qualifying.

Don't see them abandoning it.

We'll need to win Division B to avoid Pot 3... finishing 2nd-bottom in Division A is 50/50 for Pot 1.

Fine margins; big effects.

That’s what Christie is there to do, but he just kept doing the wrong thing tonight. McGinn didn’t have the legs for it tonight.

Fraser and Armstrong will make a big difference there.
