Forest_Fifer
Out of interest do fans of the 1st Div really think there is appetite from all clubs to restart the league or to null and void it.If there wasn't, why did all 20 clubs ask the SPFL to restart?

I suspect it may have something to do with the grant money they were given, and perhaps they couldn’t say they were stopping after receiving the pay out?

I think there is appetite from clubs to restart, I suspect the only interest the authorities have is to get Scottish cup played. They have very little interest otherwise in us Diddy clubs. Personally I’m past bothering tbh

Why would that be contingent on them playing games?

I realise that, but the point was raised that some would have been happy to sit it out, my point is that perhaps some felt there was no excuse for them not to back the majority who wanted to get back playing?

Only reason I'm asking is I heard the other day that EF players were having to go to Stirling for testing every week at a cost of £1500 not including travelling expenses etc. This might not be true I know but cant help but think that many PT ckubs might now just want to wait until August to restart.

You are talking about the same egos that began the season in an ill-advised fashion, and didn't put into place any contingency plans for the blatantly obvious second wave that was coming. The same lot who think it's a good idea to try and fit 22 games in. There will be people pressing ahead with this regardless of what is thrown at them.

Why would East Fife players need to travel to Stirling? We've got test facilities in just about every town in the country.

From the Cambridge Dictionary; a country in which the government uses the police to severely limit people's freedom That sounds a lot like where we have been for the past few months. Except certain groups like the Green Brigade & the Rangers hordes appear beyond that control.

Unless some clubs got together and decided they'd release a 20 club statement without the agreement of all clubs, and those clubs who didn't agree have just sat quietly for the last week. What I suspect is happening here is that the SPFL board are not entirely happy with the contingency plan for clubs missing/not completing matches and are trying to get the clubs to consider an 18 game season, as is their preference.
Arnold Layne
Reading between the lines of the Forfar statement, it looks as though the clubs have just been informed that there is little chance of fans returning this season. Perhaps that is why some clubs are now blowing cold on the plan to restart.

If we proposed the plan last week based on getting fans back then that's the most mental decision we've taken yet.

I only saw a fairly robust statement from the 20 clubs emphasising a collective desire to play football. It's only really on P&B I've detected any persistent will to scrap the season (The Sun and Record flying a kite doesn't count - right?). Guest The Phoenix
No one in their right mind would have based their decision to return to playing with the expectation of fans being allowed in this season.
