Dundee FC vs Kilmarnock FC & Kilmarnock FC vs Dundee FC

I would have been delighted with a 1 goal lead before last night's game, but the way it happened is fucking infuriating. 2-0 up, absolutely cigaring it, and if anything looking more like getting a third against a laughably ineffective Killie side, McPake makes a nonsensical sub in taking off McMullan which is a huge factor in Killie pulling a vital goal back. This is why, even if we somehow get up to the Premiership, he needs replaced, or at a minimum have a much more experienced Assistant in the dugout with him. Decision-making like that against these teams will see us absolutely scudded on a regular basis.

The 'glass jaw' is a manager that doesnt know how to close a game out tactically. He continually sets up the last 15 minutes of the game with no real shape even when we are the better team.
He actually changes the shape which is crazy IMHO.

He needs to realise that if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Can't wait for this season to be over and all these imposters to be released. Thank f**k they're all out of contract. Spinless b*****ds. Hopefully can't play as badly on Monday night, but that remains to be seen. Big 90 minutes coming up.

You want to reward success with a sacking? Fickle, or what?

McMullan was knackered having left everything he had on the pitch.

This - we need another 80/90 minutes out of him on Monday.

The mistake was not putting another high energy player like Anderson on and just telling him to shut the right side down.

Having a manager who makes the exact same mistakes on a highly regular basis at championship level is going to be massively exposed at Premiership level.  McPake is actually an OK manager as long as he has his strongest starting XI available. The problems come when he has to make changes, or adapt tactically to an adverse situation. He simply isn't capable of doing this. You're not going to get away with that in the top division. He could do with a more experienced head beside him if indeed he does get us past Killie.

Fair enough if he pulls it off, but that Mullen is fucking shite, Afolabi is far superior but never gets a look in.
Mullen isn't everyone's favourite but maybe the reason afolabi isn't playing is because he's just crap? Same with McDaid, it's no wonder all the hype for him died down shortly after his loan to partick was cancelled.

I can't be arsed, but yeah, TW has always been arrogant but feels like something you ignore when he manages your club.

It's definitely gone up a notch since his time out the game though. Getting rejected by NI, County and Motherwell, plus watching us improve without him, seems to have changed him.

To be honest, I don’t think he’s changed that much. If anything he seems to have mellowed.

He was an utter moaning faced c**t when he was with your lot, but now he seems pretty placid. I get the vibe he can’t really be fucked and is only with us because a.) we asked him and b.) there’s plenty of golf courses near. Which isn’t good, obviously.

Always felt to me like it was a choice he made put of desperation.

Like Kilmarnock would've been the right size of club for him to go to to try and replicate/better what he done with us, but your squad was clearly a mess defensively and in a really bad place, so it was completely the wrong time. As if he was worried if he didn't take the job now, and had just been rejected by Motherwell, then he wouldn't get another chance as he'd be forgotten about.

If you want to talk about arrogance @RandomGuy. compare these two interviews:

Shite Ludo, you’re hearing what you want to hear.  He openly says his team made a lot of mistakes and his keeper made a few good saves. He then tries to talk up his teams chances, what else is he going to do?

McPake is going on far more about how well his team did and is even more upbeat for the second leg, but in no way arrogant either.

Afolabi has looked good every time he's played. IMO.

Tommy Wright giving it the old “he’s travelling at such pace it only takes a wee touch to knock him off his feet” in defence of Burke’s dive last night. Burke was almost stopped by the time he reached the goalkeeper. Definite dive, definite booking.
