But...  but... but...  won't that cause inflation?  How could an inflation-matching rise for workers be resisted because it would be inflationary, but an inflation-matching rise for you to sit on your backside be fine and dandy?

I'm sure the Canary Islands economy will cope with Granny switching to a top shelf brand of Rioja.

Do you think the abuse that is said towards other posters on this part of the board is acceptable?

We can all have different views and opinions and be civil to each other.

Div's sticky sadly has made not one bit of difference.

There is unrest in the forest, trouble with the trees, for the maples want more sunlight, and the oaks ignore their pleas…

Westminster claim Scotland is endorsing Levelling Up branded 'garbage'

https://www.thenational.scot/news/20684525.westminster-claim-scotland-endorsing-levelling-branded-garbage/

Yep! SNP Councils having to resort to bringing out the begging bowl for these funds when they are receiving less is apparently endorsing Westminster for this great idea. All going to plan to 'starve out' the SNP. Goes along with the allegations of hoarding cash.

Tory scumbags

'Glasgow City Council leader Susan Aitken has stressed the city has been economically damaged by Brexit and reduced UK Government funding, but councillors had to put party politics aside and do what was best for the city by applying for LUF cash.

Kaukab Stewart, SNP MSP for Glasgow Kelvin, said: “The Scottish Tories are guilty of spouting shamelessly misleading garbage when the damaging reality is that Scotland is being seriously short-changed to the tune of £131 million this year alone.

“These funds are supposed to replace money from the European Union sent to the Scottish Government to spend on Scottish priorities but, since the catastrophe of Brexit, not only are the Tories bypassing Scotland’s democratically-elected Government, this year they are coughing up just £31m instead of the £183m Scotland would have received from the EU.'

Looks like typical local council arithmetic

£183m - £31m = £131m

A freeze on energy bills wouldn’t help the worst off. Much better letting bills go up to £6k a year and giving them a few hundred quid in their bank accounts, apparently.

I know you should never be shocked with this lot, and yet…

That depends on the reasons for the abuse. Root cause such as.....

One of the most common reasons on here for topics descending into abuse are debates and conversations derailed by usually one person in particular wanting it to make it all about himself. Its quite narcissistic of that person disrupting, shows disrespect, very selfish and not in good faith.

You can have posters on here who have opposing views from the majority and they can get along fine. if someone starts being aggressive with you, ffs you're not standing right in front of them you have the choice to ignore them and talk to someone else.

Quite often the person who disrupts conversations has little jabs at other posters for no reason and that doesn't go unnoticed, but when the person gets challenged they default to the role of victim and claim bullying and everyone is ganging up on me and what did I do?. You see it on the football field, they get called a dirty cheating b*****d.

There should be no abuse at all.

A certain poster cannot help himself and is abusive in 99% of his posts.

It's personal abuse that gets flagged up.

Has there been any personal abuse towards you since you started this account?

Absolutely loving that some utter loser has been so upset at having his trolling ripped up for arsepaper that he's had to create at least one whining alias.

Glorious, glorious stuff 🙂
