Rovers v Morton

Recommended Posts

Saw the goal a mile off and completely unsurprised Benedictus was the one who ended up on his arse. Need to make huge changes at the back and to bring in a forward to work with Poplatnik. The only positive was the performance of Greg Young. This season can get in the sea. We've lost far too many league games. Thank f**k for that run at the start of the season.

Probably a draw would have been a fair result, but Big Robbie's goal was worth winning the game!

Results are all that matters in the last few games and we achieved the 3 points.

Can we get 5th spot?

Excellent result at a ground we have very little joy. No reason why we can't push for 5th place now.

Enough of that nonsense! You got three points today. Just be contented with that. Now bugger off and enjoy your weekend.🥴

Content is not in the Douglas Imrie vocabulary.

Staggering the substitutions like that was really weird, broke up what little momentum we had.

Didn't look like a side with x amount of minutes left to save the season if I'm being honest.

That miss by Varian, WTAF? Hits the bar, ball comes back to him with keeper out of position trying to recover and knocks it straight at him, FFS. Bene too with that free header that he put wide in the second half, criminal.

Just a real ‘meh’ feeing about today. Totally flat and just a resignation about it all. Don’t even really know what to say. I’m not annoyed, or disappointed, we didn’t even play that badly, it’s just 🤷‍♂️

Have quite a lot on over the next month or so and with the league now finished for us it’ll probably be next season until I go again. Just get this over and move on.

Poplatnik back to being absolutely awful the last two games again. No idea why Morton fans seem to hate Muirhead, think he looks good every time we play them. Greg Young looked pretty good. That’s honestly all I can even really remember. Such a forgettable game.

Mcglynn s failure to properly strengthen the forward positions has been a major factor along with poor recruitment  , Signing Keatings, Goodwillie , desperation signing Blaise Riley snow , Liam Dick but what I don’t get is our horrific run of injuries season after season look at Arbroath for example a part time club yet more or less can field the same starting 11 week in week out stretching back to when they beat us to promotion a few year ago. Big close season for the Rovers with big decisions to be made

The arbroath players all have jobs down the pits to get them fit though and are a hybrid of full time with the odd part time player.

Momentum is everything in football and nothing really sums that up more than today. We actually played reasonably well, created a few great chances and saw them come off the bar twice and Poplatnik/Benedictus missed sitters.

Morton weren’t exactly nowhere in the game, but they score a screamer from nowhere and take the three points. Their fans having a great time, ours silent - Morton on the up, we’re surely relegation favourites for next season.

We’ve probably deserved to win four of our last six home games (QoS, Hamilton, Partick, Ayr, ICT, Morton). We’ve won none and lost three. It isn’t a coincidence, or a hard luck story.

No one hates Muirhead since Imrie took over. One of many players utterly transformed.

It's absolutely ridiculous that we are essentially safe with three games to go considering the state we were in when he got the job. 13 points after 18 games to 40 points after 33. What a fucking manager.
