PIF have got less than 5% of the assets managed by a group that has 60% of Chelsea and the stake Chelsea represent only 3% of the groups total assets

This is Daily Mail alarmist nonsense

The same Neville that is practically begging for Qatar to buy United and was doing adverts for them before the World Cup?

Gary Neville has his principles until they impact either himself or Man Utd. They are disposable when this happens.

The media are only raging because PIF has ineffect nationalised a few tinpot Saudi clubs and is bankrolling them rather than lobbing a couple of £bn at a top six EPL with another random Sheikh as the front man.

Neville speaking out about the PIF involvement in Chelsea now and calling for an embargo of transfers between Saudi and EPL clubs. This is all going to get pretty seismic in England soon.

The whole opposition to this is entirely based upon people panicking about the product of the Premier League and their best players being poached. Any claim that it is about the source of the money is absurd. As mentioned, Neville has no issue with Qatar buying Man Utd. Seems to have no issue with Newcastle being funded by Saudi money. No issue with Abu-Dhabi funding Man City. No issue with Russian oil bankrolling Chelsea etc etc. Given that, why would he have an issue with Saudis using Saudi money to fund Saudi football?

The Premier League has been driving up prices for years and caused mass wage inflation, largely driven by middle Eastern and Russian money, and that's allowed them to attract the best players in the world and create the best 'product'. Now someone else has the power to compete financially and play them at their own game, and surprise surprise they don't like it.

Chelsea sign loads of players, Gary Neville "They shouldn't be allowed to do this. It's outside FFP."

Chelsea sell loads of players, Gary Neville "You can't do this, ban people selling players to Saudi clubs".

It's like when Rio Ferdinand was shouting at Fabregas to speak English.

The defensiveness around the Barclays is truly hilarious. It's almost like they are petrified that folk will realise that matches not involving the top 6 are shite

Ultimately Chelsea have got too many players and need to offload players for FFP reasons as much as anything else

And who else is going to play Chelsea sized wages for the players who aren't good enough for Chelsea to keep?

The two are quite clearly linked, though.

1. Sign a load of players who they can't afford

2. Use Todd Boehly's contacts in Saudi Arabia to sell off their unwanted players at vastly inflated fees, to help them get around 1 while falling within FFP limits.

It's pretty farcical, just as it is that the likes of Man City and PSG have owners who are effectively allowed to sponsor their own clubs to get around the rules.

That isn't to say that Neville isn't a massive hypocrite for shilling for Qatar, because he is.

True, but have you considered that it is funny that he's upset?

Sure, but shame it is to the benefit of such a revolting team as Chelsea.

Still, doesn't seem to be just the Saudis helping them out. £65 million from Arsenal for Havertz. For people who watch more non-Villa games than I do, hasn't he been mostly shit?

We should start a pool on when the WWE style reveal happens as it turns out Saudi Arabia has franchised the Barclays and they own all of it.

All #Barclays players contracted centrally and dished out from a deck of cairds every season.
