Sticking on a bunch of regens to deflect from the fact that Chelsea's 'neat*' passing produced no significant attempts in the whole second half is a particularly fraudulent move from Potter.

They're the third best team in West London and I can see their daft Yank owner binning him before the end of the season.

How long until Chelsea realise the manager is not the problem. Next guy will last less than a year.

The manager was absolutely the problem because the performances his team was producing - assembled at enormous expense - were hopeless. The club is a basketcase too but that doesn't give the manager a free pass for stinking the place out.

Potter signed a five-year deal to replace Thomas Tuchel in September, with Chelsea paying a buyout clause of £20million to lure him from Brighton.

But he won just seven of his 22 games in all competitions, with a January transfer window outlay of close to £300m failing to prompt a consistent upturn...

I have been informed that Todd Boehly is currently attempting to trigger Mark "Sparky" Hughes' release clause from Bradford City.

Wisey in as DoF and someone who can at least shave like a Chelsea Football Club manager, rather than the last scruff.

Whoever it is, they could do worse than appoint John Terry as assistant. That’s a man who’s proper Chels.

Chelsea should never have got rid of Tuchel.

Spurs should never have got rid of Pochettino either. Nothing should surprise us anymore. It’s a wonder that some clubs down there at the very top don’t offer managers a rolling one-week contract. Win your first game or get bagged. Next!

They're too quick to sack managers when things aren't going well. Bad runs happen in football. Unless someone is catastrophically bad (not bald) then they should get more time to turn it around.

Could you go over to the hearts thread with that argument because I can’t be  bothered anymore

Adversity is part of life. If someone was trusted to manage a football club then they should also be trusted to work through any adversity that arises during that time.

Sacking them denies them the opportunity to grow and develop personally and professionally through working through adversity.

Odds on the Chelsea players who started making the Quidditch references:

M. Mount and B. Chilwell: 1/10000

Chilwell's a good shout but Mount's too teacher's pet for me. Yank patter from Pulisic?
