They're the third best team in West London and I can see their daft Yank owner binning him before the end of the season.

The manager was absolutely the problem because the performances his team was producing - assembled at enormous expense - were hopeless. The club is a basketcase too but that doesn't give the manager a free pass for stinking the place out.
jagfox
Quote Potter signed a five-year deal to replace Thomas Tuchel in September, with Chelsea paying a buyout clause of £20million to lure him from Brighton. But he won just seven of his 22 games in all competitions, with a January transfer window outlay of close to £300m failing to prompt a consistent upturn... Miguel Sanchez
A PE teacher from the Swedish leagues could never manage a club with the reputation and standing of the Chels. Not before time.
AMMjag
Wisey in as DoF and someone who can at least shave like a Chelsea Football Club manager, rather than the last scruff.
Scotty Tunbridge
Fuming Reid hasn’t been put in charge. That would have saved the season getting Offiong in on a free. If Potter walks straight in to the Leicester job he has probably landed on his feet tbf to him.
DrewDon
If I know the mind of Richard Keys as well as I think I do, I expect him to endorse Steve Clarke for the Chelsea job in his excellent blog tomorrow.

Whoever it is, they could do worse than appoint John Terry as assistant. That’s a man who’s proper Chels.

Nothing should surprise us anymore. It’s a wonder that some clubs down there at the very top don’t offer managers a rolling one-week contract. Win your first game or get bagged. They're too quick to sack managers when things aren't going well. Bad runs happen in football. Unless someone is catastrophically bad (not bald) then they should get more time to turn it around.

If someone was trusted to manage a football club then they should also be trusted to work through any adversity that arises during that time. Sacking them denies them the opportunity to grow and develop personally and professionally through working through adversity.
