Dyche, Howe and Potter are all pretty good managers at least. Southgate too for his level. They're obviously nowhere near the top of the tree, but they've all done jobs you would describe as "good" at the very least. Potter was England's best hope of having someone in that upper bracket but he's gonna need to rebuild further down the league or maybe overseas again.

Yeah pretty good, but not great. It's pretty much unprecedented in world football to have such a big gap in homegrown managers winning a league - and most of the time nobody's even coming close.

Scotland, a nation less than 1/10 the size of England, has 14 titles with two different managers since an Englishman last won it. In the next 30 years, the smart money is on Scotland staying well ahead.

It's one of the many major weaknesses in their footballing culture.

Dyche, Howe and Southgate have all gotten their teams relegated, it's not like they're Mourinho or anything.

Rafa Benitez, who himself is only okay, has achieved more than every English manager combined in the last 30 years.

In those 30 years obviously they don't have someone the calibre of Ferguson, but they probably haven't even produced someone the calibre of Moyes.

As for the game yesterday, Kane, as England captain, consistently gets away with being one of the dirtiest players in the league. His specialist move is backing into players as they are jumping which could lead to a career ending injury.

And this is nothing new, Alan Shearer was allowed to stamp on Neil Lennon's head whilst Rooney got off with smashing James McCarthy with an elbow off the ball.

The FA will let them do whatever they want. Mason Greenwood repeatedly broke COVID rules by hosting parties and it was hushed up, only coming to light when it emerged he was a dangerous predator. There is much more they are successfully covering up, along with a compliant media, that we won't know about it.

On this afternoon’s evidence I’d say Conte was 100% correct about Spurs!

Shame it helps scouser’s though

Conte couldn't have been proved more correct.

If Spurs was a verb. Its meaning would perfectly encapsulate the last 20 mins of that match.

Regarding Kane and the sending off. Kane certainly went out his way to create and provoke a reaction.

The hand to the face is unfortunately a straight red.

Out of interest If Doucoure had punched Kane hard in the face would he receive the same ban of three matches?

In the first half there was an incident with Ben Godfrey where in a challenge he has got his hand right in the eye of his opponent.

It could be argued that that was more sustained hand to face.

Godfrey got away with a few challenges early in that really were yellow cards. But he’s English right?

Superb goal by Keane. That point could be crucial at end of season - IF Everton escape sanctions over financial “mismanagement”.

I will miss Goodison (and the Spellow) when they move to the new site.

Proper old fashioned stadium.

Worth a visit before it goes.

It's quite interesting that various football pundits/commentators have totally dialled down the CHEATING DIVING FOREIGNERS chat now that it's absolutely endemic with England's players now.

"All he's trying to do is get his team an advantage" seemed to be the gist of Kane's ludicrous acting.
