Jives Miguel
Howling at Crooksy's team of the week. David de Gea (Manchester United): The most difficult period for a goalkeeper is when he has nothing to do and then is called upon at a moment's notice. If there is one goalkeeper capable of winning a match having spent a considerable amount of time out of the action it is David de Gea. His performance against a stubborn Nottingham Forest wasn't anything special but thoroughly dependable. De Gea has come a long way since the days he was talking about returning to his native Spain. The former international should now be the Manchester United club captain - he's earned it. The incredulity on Robertson's face having received the reflex reaction from the referee's assistant. The defender had after all come at such a pace to confront the official, it was perfectly natural for the startled Hatzidakis to raise his elbow as a defensive mechanism. The way Robertson then turned to his team-mates in astonishment to complain that he had just been 'deliberately' elbowed was bordering on pathetic. The international defender should have known better. Had he tried that stunt in his native Scotland, in a match of no significance with an ordinary member of the public running the line, he would almost certainly have been levelled.
Jives Miguel
Arsenal need Saliba back pronto if they've any chance of winning the league. Especially for the City game. Holding is absolute murder

Look, De Gea made sure he was ready for a shot on target, and that's the hallmark of a top, top goalkeeper.

As per, a lot of it lies with the owners who look set to leave at the end of this season, with Kretinsky taking over which will be interesting. Yesterday was a throwback to the 20/21 season, high pressing and doubling up anytime Arsenal got on the ball. Coufal & Bowen did a good job on Martinelli. Rice was back to his usual self, and I imagine Moyes will persevere with him in that more advanced role, leaving Pacqueta & Soucek to sit a bit more deep. General noise coming out is that Moyes will depart at the end of the year, but a couple more wins and a very good chance of winning a European competition (leading to the Europa League), means he might just be able to convince the new owners for another year. I have no skin in the game and do understand how shite it can be being landed watching depressing football week after week (it's all I've known for about eight years), but Moyes' current spell must be the most successful of any West Ham manager in god knows how long - certainly since I started watching football.

Considering the last major trophy was in 1980, you're quite correct. This season has been complete dross though, but he did lose Alan Irvine and Stuart Pearce at the end of last year who he seemed to really favour, and Warburton was put in place by Sullivan. If he can win the Conference League though (and they should), he will be waved off into the sunset.

Seriously? Fiorentina are a considerably better side than West Ham and have absolutely cigared their way through this tournament. If West Ham cop La Viola in the semis, they're out (assuming they can actually get past Gent)
Barry Ferguson's Hat
My dead Gran's dead dog could score against Fiorentina. West Ham will stroll to the trophy. -

There is absolutely no chance that decision, and the Maguire one yesterday, would've been given the same way if it was a Leeds and Forest player handling the ball on those occasions.

CambieBud
This is yet another in a long line of dreadful games. Defenders earning millions who can’t defend. Midfielders and forwards who pass the ball backwards every time they get the ball. Best league on the world, my a**e!
