Giving a penalty away just inside the box was a bit careless. Got back into the game and totally switched off for their second cause decisions went against us. Ref wil never change their minds. Thankfully we had enough in the tank to win it eventually but let's be a bit more switched on in these key moments. Onto a tough test on Friday. Curious as to why this game is a Friday? Spartans v Stenhousemuir is on next Saturday, hence the move to the Friday night.

First game after a few weeks of missed action on a ridiculously heavy pitch... definitely got away with it, but we created quite a lot and did actually knock the ball about quite well after the first 25 mins or so. Definitely deserved 3 points, but Tynecastle will be gutted to have got nothing! Can see other teams around us struggling to take the 3 points from there... so definitely goes down as good character, showing the depth of the squad and never giving up. A lot of positives, but yes both goals conceded were daft! Actually looking forward to a Friday night game next week... Spartans are home on the Saturday and the Spartans Women are home on the Sunday. Hutchy Vale are 3rd pegging there!
Jordi1977
Well last night ticks the box of another great 3 points... but my god that last 15 minutes was hard work! We seemed to be comfortable at 2-0... then Hutchy pulled one back and panic stations! Their goal, great strike, but the lad who set it up should have been stopped long before he got his pass away, very good wee player though. Can see why Hutchy have got themselves 2nd. Big, physical hard working side... but 2 or 3 players who actually can play and a fair bit of pace in the team as well. Broxburn, despite hanging on, have done brilliantly to get the win - a lot of sides are going to drop points there. Any ideas what the big number 4 was sent off for at the end? I seem to have completely missed it?
Jordi1977
Somehow today's match against Crossgates went ahead... pitch looked awful! And 2nd half especially it was cutting to pieces with a big section in the middle where almost no one could keep their footing! Crossgates made Broxburn work hard for it in the first half, taking the lead with a great goal. Excellent equaliser just before half time probably saved Broxburn. 2nd half Broxburn were more dominant, got in front, got awareded a fortunate penalty which was well converted and as the Crossgates heads dropped added a 4th to make it look comfortable. Second week in a row Nick Locke has had to go off injured and he didn't look good hobbling off. Hope the lad is at least given a good couple of weeks to let all niggles clear up or anything more serious properly rested.

In regard to your penalty Mr J when did Sparky Lockhart join the coaching staff..
albynpark
Absolutely brilliant to get 3 points of that Sauchie lot. They have always seemed to give us the hardest games over the years. I'm never confident playing them but we did what was needed.

You have to scratch you head over how Sauchie dropped so many points early in the season. Two tough games against them and delighted to be out of that with 4 points!

Can see such an attitude difference in the squad and it is wonderful to see.
albynpark
We just keep grinding out 3 points. Brilliant team effort. And fair play to Penicuik, who after the start they had to this season seem to be going in the right direction. Pies were crap though.
karate kid
Another 3 points which is brilliant as team not firing on all cylinders, with the chances created in first half the game should have been out of site today. All credit to Penicuik who dug in and made a game of it in 2nd half, keep working hard as a unit please guys.
Jordi1977
If anyone didn't deserve to lose today, it was the Penicuik 'keeper. Some of his saves were excellent and the first half double save he made was unbelievable! But again, things just going our way when we need them and Errols clever flick just hit the right side of the post to go in! A game where Broxburn should have been out of sight, but somehow just never got another. Looks a pretty young side that Penicuik have just now, if they even just keep that squad together they'll naturally just be better still next season and beyond. Still laughing at potentially the worst linesman decision ever when he totally missed a boy literally dribbling the ball out of play beside him and gave throw-in to him!

Keep reading about all the silky football being played by Broxburn certainly wasn’t evident today

albynpark
Squeezing in 5 games this February and we only have 1 game scheduled for March. Unless we beat Tranent but that looks unlikely after the last match. Doesn't seem well planned out
