Spain
I think he should be a decent signing. With him and Dow both coming in, who's getting the dunt then? Can only assume Franks & Dingwall getting sent much further down the pecking order.
Savage Henry
I don't really understand the Dow signing at all. Burke, however, makes a great deal of sense. Franks, Gardyne and Burke competing for the two wide spots is a pretty good competition. Dingwall's not going to make it at Ross County.
bunglebonce
Burke's 33 in December, hopefully he still has a bit of zest.

bunglebonce
Given his game is mostly jinking on to his left foot from the right wing, then curling the ball to the far post, he probably still has plenty to give. It's what Franks does without being left-footed. Edited September 27, 2016 by bunglebonce
Malcolm Malcolm
I think that's a very decent signing. Ross County have a good wee squad right now. I was skeptical about Jim McIntyre but he's doing a good job.

He was training at Killie according to some posts on here, IIRC. I'm impressed with this signing. Burke and Gardyne as our wide players should provide some good ammunition for Boyce, Schalk and Curran.
tree house tam
Good signing. If Dow can sort out his problems too then you should be decent going forward in a few months. Maybe keep The Rangers in the bottom half.
humbleheart
Would like us to take a punt on Chris Burke who is without a club just now. Best days are behind him but still probably do s good job on either the left or right wing. 10% agency fee Jum/Chris or a pint, whatever's the most

Was linked with us in summer and personally still think we could do with a left winger

He can play there, but part of the problem is he's never really settled into a position. He should have gone out on loan three years ago.
NM_1919
Always thought that's where you'd been playing him, maybe not needed so much

Nobody is convinced that's his position, least of all McIntyre or the player himself.

Was linked with us in summer and personally still think we could do with a left winger I think it is reasonably likely to happen. An "emergency" loan can happen to a lower league club for up to 93 days, which would take us to the new registration window. Tony will think his best position is as a number 10 in a 4-4-1-1, but he hasn't had that opportunity in the first team. Given he isn't particularly quick then if he has to play on the wing I think it should be on the left, so that he can drift in and link with the forwards.
RandomGuy.
Wonder how far Burke wages have dropped, considering he was on £12k a week last season...
yoda
Probably to a cool £4,500 per week, with sizeable appearance and win bonuses.

Not sure why you are asking. You're the one who claims to know about players wages so why don't you explain the workings of this contract to us? Ludo*1
Do any of you lot worry that you'll do a Gretna when Uncle Roy calls it a day? I'd certainly have my concerns but then I'm used to disasters at Dens. Just curious - this isn't a wind up attempt - to see what the thoughts on the future are for County. Is it just a case of enjoy the good times and see what happens? Or has Roy laid down some foundations to ensure you'll be secure even if he gets fed up or can't continue financing you?
