Spain
Don't you mean a crackin' goalie? Eh? Get it? I apologise everyone. I did consider going there myself to be honest...
sophia
As usual, not a fucking clue. Hope you enjoyed last Sunday, and I am just praying that you were one of the nuggets that brought a beach-ball. Tut tut. I didn't trouble myself with any travelling on Sunday. My information is that Royston, given the overtures, acted very quickly with extra cash to secure Jnr's signature. Crucially, the small print in the contract allows for a departure in due course.
The Real Saints
I've got some Ross County chat for this thread. I reckon that Martin Scott looks a bit like Voldemort. Thoughts?

wellboy1991
Can't believe Vigurs has signed for Oldham, anytime I've seen him play he looks like a touch of class.

forkboy
Can't believe Vigurs has signed for Oldham, anytime I've seen him play he looks like a touch of class. Money talks. Can't really blame him if he's getting paid better in League One, & he should be a success down there
Spain
A move to Oldham should hopefully be the start of the fast-track for him. If he performs to his potential, I wouldn't be surprised to see a decent championship side to pick him up from there pretty quickly. To be honest, when you look at the current Scotland squad, a season or two of consistency at a decent level and he could easily merit a place in that.
bunglebonce
He's no worse than Andrew Shinnie, despite what the moaners around me in VP say. From the clip of de Leeuw, he looks to have great composure and is really good in the air considering his size. The quality of the defending was quite poor for a lot of those goals, so it's difficult to judge. There was no real hint of any creativity from him in the clip, which is the biggest thing that the team will miss from Vigurs leaving. I wouldn't be surprised to see a specialised #10 come in, but they're sometimes just as difficult to find as a goalscorer.
Loki
Vigurs will rip League One apart.

staggy4life
Here is my attempt a County goals compilation from this season. Poor video quality and copyright violation ahoy!Good effort. I've been busy so I've not had the chance to add the April/May goals to my video below from a couple months ago. Calvin Harris has claimed copyright to the music anyway so it needs updated! btb
Looks like County have done well to keep most of the players they wanted which is a pity as I was hoping their best players would be cherry-picked. I allus thought out SFL1 winning team in 2005/06 was much stronger than our 2007/08 team with Adam, Lappin, Broadfoot and Sutton gone. Hopefully the Sproule factor has been used up (started with 5 in 5 but only scored 1 in the remaining 9) 'cos the 2013/14 relegation battle starts here.

Hopefully the Sproule factor has been used up (started with 5 in 5 but only scored 1 in the remaining 9) 'cos the 2013/14 relegation battle starts here. County have lost Lawson and Vigurs, two of their most important players. I think the "Sproule factor" has been used up, to an extent. He's probably a one-in-ten match-winner whose form began to average out by the end of the season, and his final ball is consistently atrocious. Having said that, County had used him slightly differently than when he first joined - he was being asked to get chalk on his boots rather than make runs behind defensive lines. His pace and directness alone keeps other teams (especially 4-4-2 based teams) from progressing with their full-backs, which helps County control matches. In addition, Melvin de Leeuw's goals coming in from the other flank will make up for Sproule's diminishing returns. As long as teams like St Mirren, Hearts and Hibs keep serving up tripe in stock 4-4-2 formations, County should continue to win matches in midfield and will average enough points against the bottom six to stay safe.
Spain
It's all very strange how quiet it is. Very unlike County to have announced so many signings at once and then nothing else happen for a while. I'd like another signing or two soon please just to give us something to talk about.
StuartTaylor
Noticed Adams and Roy yesterday and today commenting that they don't know where Vigurs will end up, and he is still under contract until 31st. Maybe that goes for new signings too, waiting for 1st June..
bunglebonce
The last couple of days have been mildly tortuous. There was a snippet in yesterday's Record about de Leeuw, where Adams suggested that he has a lot of pace and he would use him -with Sproule - as a genuine winger rather than a second forward. The only time that County started with two wingers (Cooper and Sproule) in 12-13 was the home win against St Johnstone - I thought the playing area was widened too much and County were uncharacteristically pushed back a lot in that game (there's an argument that had Murray Davidson not gone off early on, County might not have won that match). Having said that, from the highlights reel de Leeuw certainly knows his way about the penalty box. It just puts extra responsibility on the other midfielders to both create and get on the end of the deliveries. No-one's indispensable, but Vigurs excelled wherever he played and he'll be a big miss. ETA: on the point of contracts ending, I think Adams was also in yesterday's press saying that the foreign players' contracts run out at the end of June, which would be a month longer than the usual 31st May expiry. That will partly explain the relative lack of urgency there. Edited May 30, 2013 by bunglebonce
