Hedgecutter
Tannadice's 'Fair Play Stand' in its current form wasn't actually funded by UEFA for fan behaviour. They just funded a far cheaper proto-stand, which Utd subsequently rebuilt and couldn't be arsed renaming. I always thought it seemed a little generous. As a result, numerous veterans and US Navy higher-ups lost their shit at the fact Cher performed on the ship with her arse hanging out. The crew on the ship didn't seem to mind though. DiegoDiego
One quarter of transplant-quality, donated kidneys in the USA are thrown in the bin. 17% of donor organs in the USA are first offered to patients who are already deceased. The contractor used to deliver organs in the USA is fifteen times more likely to lose or damage one in transit than an airline is to do the same to a suitcase.

Why don't they just stick them in suitcases and on a flight, then?
DiegoDiego
When you hear about an army salting the earth, they weren't putting salt in it to stop food from growing, as that would require a ridiculous amount in a time where salt was expensive, but salt was put in the ground in conjunction with the seeds of aggressive weeds which would overpower anything else planted. The salt was there to actually help things grow. Edited April 13 by DiegoDiego

I recall that when the Dutch reclaimed land from the sea to turn into farmland, they had to flood it with freshwater and drain it again about seventeen times just to remove enough of the salt from the soil.
