I still can't believe a field goal is enough to win a game in overtime... IMO they ought to bring college rules in, I want 7 O.T. games. Of course Cincinnati still miss it. Need a new long snapper evidently.

Two things I'm watching with specific reference tonights game - How do the Chargers Corners hold up with no JC Jackson, and can Pipkins do a better job of slowing down Crosby than Norton did in week 18 last year.

In the bigger picture I'm keen to see if Herbert has learned how to take a bit off of some of the easier throws. The Chargers as a team barely ever dropped a pass in all the years Rivers was our starter, yet our drop numbers have been ridiculous the past two years and a big part of that is Herbert's arm. Jared Cook being gone should help as he was a liability last season, both in terms of his hands, and his penchant for running the wrong route and leaving Herbert looking like a lemon. On the other side of the ball, I'm keen to see how our D holds up in general, especially against the run compared to 2021. I'm still completely unconvinced by Staley's 'rah-rah' act, because I can not fathom how a coach who is touted as a defensive guru could put out such an utterly hopeless D last season despite the roster not being completely devoid of talent. I suspect this two high 5 DL scheme is fundamentally garbage and all smoke and mirrors, but time will tell. LAR just won a Superbowl running it, but they also have Ramsey and Donald.
