Thanks for confirming that your Gretna mk.2 exercise in financial doping extends beyond the first team as well.

You seem to really love talking about Queen’s Park

You’re probably still seething that Bob Mchugh had the audacity to leave your mob to join us in league 2

I'm sure the likes of Simon Murray and Dom Thomas will be on decent money, but it would be disingenuous to overlook what the club is trying to do to develop our youth system and the players coming through it. It's being heavily invested in and some of the people involved have seriously impressive CVs.

Healy isn't the first prospect we've snapped up; Scott Williamson from Cambuslang Rangers, Grant Savoury from Peterhead, Patrick Jarrett released by Stoke u21s, Jake Davidson released by Dundee United, and Jack Thomson released by Rangers were all 21 or under when we picked them up and would have been perfectly affordable for anyone in this division.

Looking over the contracts data, it’s pretty clear Queen’s used 2 year deals to bulk up the team for the Championship. The only weakness there might be if they manage promotion this year, they have a load of players that might not suit the Premiership, at least yet. Add to that a stadium that barely suits League One, to support what would be a good bit of additional spending to even attempt to remain up, and the financial plan does look a wee bit askew.

I guess the Healy signing shows that the leadership at Queen’s is all in, but that mess at Lesser is going to be a millstone.

Truth is, most Scottish football teams are kept afloat by individuals pumping cash in. Did the Morton sweetie man not recently write off about £2.4 million in share capital and loans that had shored the club up?  If it wasn't for Rae, your club might well be jookin' it out with Gretna 2008 in the Lowland League.

Queens' Park aren't being 'kept afloat' - they're spending obviously excessive money on a first team squad (which apparently is okay because they're spending just as much on a youth setup too!) that is massively beyond any credible turnover figure or operating model for the business. That's financial doping.

Outbound:

Sanders and Johnston recalled

Morgyn Neill off to Alloa

The recalls were what I was dreading. Tough job to replace with similar quality.

Neill was supposed to play in bounce game last night for Alloa but got pulled when yiu announced the sacking of Macintyre.

Folk pointing out QP are spending money their turnover doesn’t remotely cover is now ‘bitter’?

Aye ok…

(I personally couldn’t give a f**k where the money’s coming from or for how long… but let’s not pretend it’s anything other than what it is…)

Aye this

Same as the junior thickos getting themselves in a tizzy over people calling out the likes of Darvel for the same thing.
