His wife's parents were already in Gaza when the Israeli military offensive began.

Foreign office advice against travel to Gaza was in place before they went

Focus should be on why a Gazan Palestinian man cannot travel to be with dying relatives in his homeland without warning (I'll take your word on that). The UK state supports the occupation and blockade of Gaza, therefore helps hold in place the very conditions which create that ongoing threat of violence in Gaza.

If they had gone as Gazan Palestinians we wouldn't be talking about it .

They went as British citizens, against the advice of the Foreign Office, and then were happy for a relatively high profile family member to try and pull strings on their behalf when it all went wrong. Their subsequent 'escape' after a cash donation also raises a few questions.

Ferries and a brother-in-law's criminality were mentioned in the last page. The Gaza episode isn't like those things. It shone a light on far wider issues. To view it through the lens of Scottish political rivalries is playing very small.

Happened to have GB News on this afternoon (don't ask why), and the male presenter referred to "Humza Useless" during a discussion of the proposed smacking ban in England.

Is it normal for a supposedly serious News programme to refer to politicians by derogatory nicknames?
