I think TVs might be broken when the BBC goons do their next live early round Scottish Cup game and you have washed up ex-pros talking about how much the cup means to them and how important the early rounds are... You would never know the 1st round happened today!

resolute defending

Not something you hear often about Clach these days..  No silly mistakes either, maybe a bit of sitting back and scoring on the break is what we need for a bit, instead of always trying to play it out. Their no 11 Younas looked dangerous in the first half, thankfully he ran out of puff.

Broxburn Vs Nairn was pretty even apart from the two soft goals gifted to Broxburn from set pieces. Wayne Mackintosh was shown a second yellow after some handbags at the end.

I quite like Broxburn. It feels like a million miles away from leafy West Edinburgh.

I thought Broxburn were pretty comfortable until about 15/20 minutes to go when Nairn remembered they were in a cup tie. Taking the ball to the corner with 10 to go when they could probably have got themselves another goal almost came back to bite them.

Could tell a red card and some handbags was going to happen from pretty early on, surprised it took so long

Midland League teams have stunk the Scottish cup out with their performances this season.

Not sure that's right. Tayport are a middling MFL side with a good win in the last round and losing to a good team from Tier above today.

Lochee and Carnoustie losing to the teams top of EoS and WoS.

Was at Formartine-Threave today. A seesaw game which Formartine were a bit lucky to edge 3-2. They were 2-0 up and cruising at half time but complacenecy set in and Threave pulled back the game to 2-2 with about 5 minutes left. Then a Euro 96 moment; Brotherston missed a great chance for Threave to win the tie, the home team broke away at pace and scored the winner.

Formartine looked lacklustre for much of this game and will need to do significantly better if they are to make any headway against higher quality opposition. Felt Threave put in a hard working and determined performance in the game and they were a little bit unlucky not to take the match to extra time. Ceetainly a lot for them to build on for their Wesy of Scotland league campaign.

Attendance, about 150.

Was at Banks of Dee v Delbeattie star. BOD seemed to give some there fringe players some minutes. Once BOD scored after a few early chances one way the game was going. Second half the goals were going in like a game of Football Manager. Was next to the Delbeattie star’s goalkeeper girlfriend. I hope this wasn’t taken her up to see him the first time or can’t see her being very impressed

I knew it wasn't Nairns day when they had that triple effort on goal, rattling the metalwork with one of them but failing to put the damn ball in the net.

They're conserving their resources for the Monday night football spectacular from Forthbank which will propel Bright Prince and Joe Bevan to international stardom on BBC Scotland channel. Stirling Uni v Albion Rovers
