When the season was suspended for Covid Liverpool had won 27, drawn 1 and lost 1. Man City had played one game less but Liverpool had a 25 point lead. After resumption they won 5 (2 of them after the league was over), drew 2 and lost 2. So they did worse during the situation you wildly misdescribe.
