Was there sign of life that next season in division 2 will be better or still hard times ahead? Of course it will depends a fair bit on what happens over the summer.

Very difficult when you get used to getting beat every week. Dropping down a league won't all of a sudden make them competitive. Something needs to happen within the club to break the cycle. Is there any ambition to improve? Or happy just to exist?

I would replace happy just to exist with simply relief to have survived to the end (2 games to go) of the season.

VOLs only win this season came against the club 3rd bottom in the Third Division (in the league cup). They would probably be able to compete with the clubs at the bottom of the current Second Division, however those three are being replaced by what will likely be better teams from the Third, so I think again they will be struggling to avoid relegation... (but might actually pick up some points!) Edited May 16 by Ginaro
HibeeJibee
Whitburn become just the 2nd club in the history of the Scottish league system to win 3 consecutive promotions: the other was Gretna FC from SFL3 to SPL between 2005 and 2007. Quite an achievement.
