Dowds in particular was terrible, letting Watson who had spent 70 minutes being outpaced by Graham jog passed him in the build up to the second. Raith had a a few good chances but we should’ve had that wrapped up comfortably. That was nothing to do with pace and everything to do with effort. Or in this case, a lack thereof.

Rather than throw his players under a bus, Doolan takes the blame.

Stardog_champion
We were really lethargic in the first half, we came out that second half and never gave m up. 6 players out and we got back into the match. I still think Partick and Dundee Utd will be fighting for that automatic promotion. Hopefully we’re in that mix too. I just just can’t fault that determination to get a valuable point at Firhill.
Nightmare
I think if you look at the chances created by both teams throughout the match, a draw is probably a fair result. Raith missed some sitters, particularly in the first half. That said, to throw away two points in that manner is disappointing. The subs were rubbish, and I’m glad Doolan acknowledged that he made an arse of it. Dowds is beyond useless at this point. I get the feeling we’re going to score and concede a lot of goals this season. Looked great going forward but all over the shop at the back.

This isn’t a new thing for Jags fans, unfortunately. Alan Archibald’s sides chucked in late goals to drop points with alarming regularity over his few years in charge. Seeing out leads was one thing McCall teams seemed to do quite well. I hope this doesn’t become a mental block under Doolan.

Pretty much in line with the conversations we had on the way back. Watching the match Thistle for me played the slicker football that should win you the game, we looked more disjointed and it showed we were missing a few key players (when do we not these days ). However there were chances at both ends that were fairly equal and both sides could have and should have scored more. Obviously Thistle will feel they lost two points while Raith will feel they won a point but a draw was probably about right on chances created. All in all it was an entertaining game and even at 2-0 it was a good viewing. Interesting to see how both teams do in their next fixtures.
Raith Against The Machine
I could easily imagine that game playing out almost in reverse if it had been the Rovers who'd scored in the first five minutes. Williams in particular looked shakey as the game began but Thistle taking the lead let him and the rest of the Thistle side settle into a rhythm while the Rovers looked rushed and panicky. Both sides, in their current configuration, are clearly much happier when they're on the front foot and they've got a bit of impetus. As for the Rovers coming out after half time and not giving up, they certainly didn't give up but I felt we were playing poorer in the half hour after the break than we did in the first half. We really needed the substitutions - from both sides - to change the nature of the game.
pub car king
Just seen the highlights there, I don't think anyone who paid into to that game can complain about not being entertained. Rovers started sharply but looked really slack and a bit lethargic in the first half, wtf is going on with the first goal? Nobody is tracking their man. As for up front raith looked good in spells I wouldn't call the missed chances "sitters" but to not even get them on target is poor. 2nd half rovers looked better and when Ethan Ross came on he looks like a new player. Caused problems and put a shift in was even tracking back in one clip. I'll get pelters here but that's not Eastons goal it's an OG, the defender puts it past the keeper and completly changes the direction of the shot. Mitchell has taken a good strikers goal there in a nice position and totally unmarked again great footwork and effort from Ross to put in a dangerous ball.
oneteaminglasgow
The change in shape was clearly a huge error which ceded control of the midfield to Rovers and let them back into the game. Having said that, I also think we would probably have gotten away with it if McMillan was fully fit and able to last the full game as both goals came down that side where Rovers had had basically no joy prior to him going off. It’s one of the things we’ll need to accept with having Doolan as manager - he’s inexperienced and will make mistakes that cost us sometimes. Such is life, as long as he learns from it

Easton's shot was on target, always given as a goal to the attacking player if the shot is on target even if it takes a big deflection. Danny Lennon's free kick springs to mind.
Ro Sham Bo
Easton's shot looked like it was going a couple of yards wide to me. Not that the defender will be wanting the credit for it right enough....

We had a centre mid at right back, a centre half who hadn't kicked a ball since signing playing and you still couldn't beat us.
