Well, there is one difference. We're playing one fewer midfielder than we did the last time we were overrun through the middle here.

True. Would probably sacrifice Vaughan or Easton to get Arnott in beside Stanton. For the little difference it'll make now.

I think Rovers have looked threatening going forward, and we’re shaky at the back but their defence look like they’ve never met each other before.

I really, really like the look of McInroy - missed sitter aside.

Yeah, for a league opener he looks physically well up to scratch already.

First time our centre half pair have played together competitively and we're playing an attacking midfielder at right back. Its fair to say that 2-0 is not representative of the chances created and missed, but its the same old problem for the Rovers, easy to carve open in one box, impossible to carve opposition open in the other.

If we don't start Arnott in a game where we need something in midfield,  you'd have to wonder if there's any point in him being here tbh.

Horrendous at the back and need 12 chances to score. No change there then.

Hamilton hasn’t got going yet and that first miss wasn’t far off an open goal.

Feel like we can grab a couple but almost no confidence we’ll not concede more. Smell a red card for us also.

Aside from the score, it’s been a cracking open game of football. Probably should be 6-4 not 2-0. And fair play to Kingsley taking part in the minutes silence. Wonderfully surreal.

Can't agree, Thistle have the freedom of the park, we look shite.

We started on fire and have had good moments. Just can’t make them count.

Aye, we were class for the first 3 minutes. Not denying we've had chances, and better sides might make Thistle work, but they are miles better than us - partly formation related, partly that they are dominating us physically all over the park, finding good space and looking faster as well.

If you didn't have the time to count them, you'd think the Rovers were down to ten men here. Constantly under pressure, second to everything, Thistle always have a spare man.

With the total lack of a midfield base, we should at least be able to get some traction in the final third, but second half in particular we've done nothing. We're playing a front five and we've had maybe two passages of play that have involved any three of them.

We're doing terribly with the stuff we know we're bad at, but we're not getting remotely close to the stuff we're supposed to be good at.
