I see @SandyCromarty once again referring to me and @NorthStand10 as the only two defenders of Billy Dodds. This, of course, is wholly untrue and the idea that you if disagree with the mob and favour some discretion, you necessarily have to have a diametrically opposite view is the stuff of the playground. Rather than defend Dodds, my consistent stance has been that the club should resist reactive decisions.

The simple truth of the matter is that previously it was more unreasonable than reasonable to sack Dodds. The start to this season made it more reasonable than unreasonable to do so.

Hearing whispers over here in Halifax NS that one of the applicants for the job is a coach for a local team, Halifax Dunbrack. Very good reputation over here, and is still quite young so could be an option to allow to develop over time. Bit of an outside choice, however has a solid track record of working with young players and developing winning sides on a tight to non-existent budget.

Although the level of provincial Canadian football is not to the same level as Championship, many coaches and staff from these leagues have gone onto the MLS and Europe and done very well. Heavy emphasis on tactics and video analysis to the game here, something that may benefit Caley to actually have a plan in place and opportunity to develop the young lads better?

That's not the reason why it's a sideways move; rather the fact that your finishing in the bottom half last season and being anchored to the bottom now shows your ongoing, downward trajectory. Dodds didn't help that but he wasn't the fundamental cause either.

Taking over a club that is losing money hand over fist and is almost certainly facing a transition to part-time football is not a wise career move. He will be off once a better option becomes available though, there's no expectation of long-term loyalty.

We've had a few Canadians in the squad over the years Xausa, Trafford and Hastings though no managers, Hastings was the stand out for me.

For input, Scotty, CTO founder, would be well placed to give a critical background on the Halifax Dunbrack coach.

A better manager would improve our league position undoubtedly. There's no way he have the worst squad in the league. Dodds is the reason for our shite start to the season.

They undoubtedly would but why would Imrie want to do the exact same turnaround job, from the exact same point in the pyramid he started at 21 months ago? The limitations of budget are also fundamentally the same now, as all those chickens come home to roost. 

You also have a pretty shite squad, possibly second worst in the division above Airdrie, with delusions of a promotion challenge and top flight football still bouncing around three ends of a ground. It's a poisoned chalice of a gig for any manager IMHO.
