Couthy neeburs. Always been fascinated by aerial pics of grounds, especially when more than one is captured.

Old and New Meadowbank in 1949.

New Meadowbank was transformed into the Commonwealth Stadium in 1968-9. Leith Athletic played at Old Meadowbank (they took St Bernard's stand when that club went defunct and you can see it in the picture) and it was also used for speedway and stock car racing.

Powderhall. Any idea about the other pitch where St Mark's Park is now?

You can also see the cricket pitch that Heriot's used. A peripatetic Leith Athletic were based here at the start of the 1920s.

Never knew that. Surprised it's not used more by County fans in the way Manchester City fans do about United and Salford.

Man Utd/Old Trafford is not in Salford either, never has been.

Before being in and run by Trafford council it was run as the municipal borough of Stretford.

They were known as Manchester United before leaving Manchester in 1910, 2 months before Dundee won the Scottish Cup 😎

Neither it is. It's just over the border from the edges of Salford. I've never been interested enough to check it out before and being so close to Salford Quays just accepted it was. Why do City fans say Salford then? Just a poor wind up or ignorance? That welcome to Manchester poster for Teves was still correct as well as being brilliant though!

I work with mostly City and Utd fans and that is part of their "banter", don't think it was anymore than a dig at the fact that neither the club or their fans were from Manchester and that City were "Citizens" of the city of Manchester, they have plenty of other ammunition now so not heard the Salford dig in a long time.

The other thing now is that there is an actual Salford United in the leagues since that dig at Utd was popular, doesn't make as much sense now.
