Falkirk v Montrose

Recommended Posts

Disappointed that Montrose didn’t make more of a game of it. Giving Falkirk a goal so early in the match didn’t help. Huffed and puffed but never really threatened. Credit to Falkirk. Their defence wasn’t really tested but dealt with the limited threat that Montrose posed. Our energy levels definitely off the pace, which made this a pretty routine win for Falkirk. Annoying to lose that third goal but I have few if any complaints on the night. Hopefully we can give a better account of ourselves back at Links Park next time round.

For years we have had a midfield and defence with no strength now we do and are skooshing this league.

And fair play to you. If you are going to win things IMO you need a bit of hardness/cynicism at times.

He is referring to the foul at Alloa on the Kilmarnock player they have.

"The Kilmarnock player they have"? "the Kilmarnock player they have"?

That's Bobby Goals you're referring to! 😉 🙂

The one you tried to sneak back in the day before the last game and Falkirk found out the night before Kilmarnock player?

Could have been 6 in that second half but we switched off a little bit for a while.

Still, echo some others. That's by FAR the easiest game we've had against Montrose. Il give them some credit, at turnover, the pop the ball about better than anyone else I've seen to get it out to an attacker for a quick counter. Their one touch stuff in tight spaces was superb. But then it just doesn't come to much at the sharp end.

For us, the squad rotation worked exactly how it was meant to work and its fantastic to take 6 from 6 AND be able to rest some players/get minutes into others legs.

Agyeman again looking a handful when he came on and Ethan Ross being excellent from the start is particularly pleasing.

Montrose were a bit like how theor fans said they'd be. They are saving it for Saturday. Given that we're well into the third round, if teams are genuinely thinking they're beat before they get on the park v us then so much the better for the run in.

Christ Montrose are long ball merchants. The kick off straight back to the keeper., hoofed for Webster and Mackie wins the header. Summed them up. Lyons is a good player and could step up IMO. The rest are just physical. Easily beat. Next please

Ref depending yes

For me wasn't just a clear kick at the Montrose player, tho those are still reds depending on ref or var being present.

I think the correct card tho

After the slating the ref got earlier in this thread, he certainly done you a favour here. Red all day long.

Alexa, file that under 'should've been 10'

Easiest game we've had against Montrose since we came down.

Nesbitt worthy of his MotM but everyone did well. Good to get minutes into legs of some of the squad players

Ref was shite as predicted
