No Hendo - Mackie & Bisland start

*shudder*

Nothing against you Ned as you're a sensible poster, but there's a pattern here.

  • the team gets announced
  • it has some rotation in it
  • someone (usually multiple someones on different forums) complain about the selection and occasionally slag the manager
  • the team win anyway and prove the doubters wrong.

Given what he inherited, McGlynn is shaping up to be one of the best managers we've had in my 44 years of supporting the club.

What does he have to do for people to trust him to make the right call without the benefit of hindsight?

Not be a football manager.  That’s just what happens.

To be fair I think bisland was poor today, he hasn't played a lot but he struggled, ended up booked and hooked at half time, although it wasn't a great ball to him when he got booked.

Mackie had a decent game at centre half but still showed his reckless just after half time with a daft challenge and a booking near the byline.

I don't think we will see either player in the team next season.

Mackie was one of our best players today.

Bit disappointed with the final score yesterday. 2 pens and 2 goals following defensive errors. At least looking to keep going for the full game and Mo worth his goal at the end.

Your team despite the scoreline played very well in spells.

Personally I thought Mackie played well. He also showed why McGlynn has been giving players an opportunity- players will pick up injuries and suspensions and you can’t then be throwing in replacements who have never played for 3 months.
