General Election 2024

Recommended Posts

Excuse time:

I suppose you could say that a lot of Yes voters could have voted Labour this time just to get the Tories out as it's the Westminister election rather than the Scottish Parliamentary election which has more influence on every day life in Scotland in terms of health, roads, education etc (I know that London still holds the purse strings).

Anyway 5 years down the line when Keef has done the square root of f*ck all to change anything we'll see what happens.

I hate Scotland.

Bunch of utter fucking wallopers desperate to suckle any teet of the union whether it's Tory or Labour which are tantamount to the same thing these days with just a different badge.

Equally though, hard not to be seething with the SNP. They've managed to f**k things in quite glorious style.

At some point someone should have had the idea that preparing a replacement for Sturgeon might have been a good idea. I have no faith in Swinney to deliver anything.

Sturgeon had pretty much the full nation onside. Anecdotally, during the Covid era family and friends that didn't vote praised her and said they'd vote for her and believe in independence etc.

2-3 year from then, the party are rudderless, look corrupt and fucking love campervans, seem to have absolutely zero idea how to go about independence and no longer represent most people.

It's a bottlejob not seen since the mafia were in Las Vegas or indeed, Hibs prior to 2016.

In historical terms 10 seats is still high for SNP.

Probs too many scandals for SNP recently (they rack up the longer in government of course) and I think there has been an attitude of anyone and everyone left leaning of jumping on a bandwagon of voting out Tories.

"Sir" Keir will be Blair-esque, not far off Tory and pretty blandly similar.

This.

Feel the exit poll in Scotland will be a bit off and favour away from families with kids who have done postal votes. So if it’s mainly older people voting in person that could explain the Tory vote holding up in the exit poll in Scotland

Is that what he’s been charged with?

Looks like the only show has left town.

Actually a good thing, both north and south of the border. Old and tired Governments should face the consequences of their failings and the Tories and SNP have failed miserably for too lang. Keir, however does not inspire me with confidence!
