We have ample evidence that this team can score goals though, we scored more than 2 a game in qualifying. If we're creating chances the goals will come.

We've scored enough because Steve Clarke has been brilliant in setting us up to create chances for midfielders. Thirteen of our 17 goals were scored by midfielders, one by a defender, one was an OG and only two were scored by forwards. Fundamentally we're weak up front and the Netherlands friendly was a perfect example of what happens when the midfield can't weigh in.

We're still creating chances for midfielders though, they just keep missing them.

Our first choice midfield and defence are very good. Up front we are abysmal
