Depends how you take it.

Not encouraging in the sense that an appointment isn't imminent. 

Very encouraging in the sense that they won't appoint a dud just to get it done quickly (well not deliberately - the appointment could of course still turn out to be a dud).

I read it as we're asking every f**ker if they know someone who wants to be a manager. 

This is a recycle of Barrowmans video about having targets in mind and due diligence. 

We shouldn't just appoint someone for the sake of it but it's looking like a derth of viable candidates.
