Given his well documented bouts of lying on this website, it was a very fair question. What rules did it break? If it was that offensive why not warn me?

im not that big an idiot maybe you are but im not

i had made my transaction and the card came back out but for some reason i never took it out and only took the cash

brain fade i think

I'm clearly not the one who has left their card in a bank machine and had the entire contents of the account stolen, so don't turn it on me.

I dont know about your banks, but i always remember having to put your PIN in at every different transaction if you are withdrawing. And as said there is a maximum amount that you can withdraw. I once withdrew 100pounds out, and then an hour or 2 later another 140pounds (christmas shopping) at which point the bank called my house to see if i had lost my card. There was also a maximum amount of 140pounds for each withdrawal.

Yes. I'm not going to explain what I meant to you because I've mis-understood SLJ's post as he nows explains..

But I will say that we've been doing house improvements lately and my dads bank have probably been on the phone four times in the last two months checking why large amounts of money are being debited from his account. Yesterday we were buying a kitchen and he had to speak to his card issuers security department to prove who he was, and they then issued a manual authorisation for the transaction.

However, I doubt they'd bother phoning up SLJ for £500 going from his bank. I frequently part with amounts like you mention in your post on my debit card and have never been called by my bank.

nah was about £500 quid

last saw my card on monday morning when i withdrew cash but never took the card

I thought ATMs popped your card back out and beeped at you to take it. When you removed it then you got the cash.

That's certainly the way the ones I have used seemed to work so if you left your card in the machine wouldn't dispense cash to you until you removed it.
