Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Recommended Posts

Just spoken to my Dundonian wife (from a family of Dundonian bakers). She'd never heard of "butter biscuits".

However - what do Dundonians call these?

Hint - the proper name is siever.

I’d have called that a brander

A roll and Bridie is superior to both.

A bridie is surely to big for a roll a bridie in a pitta would work though. Sort of a Stockbridge take on a pie in a roll

She was from the central belt and called it well fired instead of crispy? Fake news.

No crispy rolls are different to well fired. Well fired are burnt on top.

I had to google Tin Pan Alley there. Still none the wiser.

You're a born lyricist.

She was from the Central Belt and called it "well fired"

This much is true

But she didn't know our love would be crispy on the inside

(bit of wailing Bono style.)

Sort it, I'm the agent, you're the talent...

That's beyond the pale.

Thankfully it's just on Zoom so I left audio and made a mental note to never engage with that person going forward.

Similar levels to Drinkypoos...actually after having typed that the latter is far worse..

Someone at my work had went home with a pass, so i said i would nip and collect it as he is now isolating. I asked where he stayed and instead of giving me a street name and house number, he gives me a rough area and directions of left, right etc. Mrs b done this as well the other week. You want me to go and get something/pick something up, just let me know street name and number. Worst case scenario i can google map it.
