Guest The Phoenix
I'd take my kids. One of them could drive.
Swarley
See, this is why it wouldn't even cross my mind to say about kids, i'd just assumed people wouldn't want to bring them. I'd agree in this circumstance of a 40th birthday party. The most shocking revelation from the last few pages, for me, is that philpy has a 39 year old wife so I'd guess he is of a similar age? I had always assumed that he was late teens/early twenties!

Lisa Cuddy
Maybe it's just my family. All occasions we had were "family occasions", everyone was invited, kids and all. My parents friends all had kids too and never excluded kids from parties or anything. I think I've held one party where we didn't invite kids - and that was because the people coming didn't have them! It's rotten being left out of stuff because you're a parent, I don't think I could do that to anyone.

Swarley
We went to Fiji for the wife's 40th. Saved any hassle of whether or not to invite other people's kids to the party!

Marko A
Neighbours kids have been driving me mad with their music. Must of got a CD player or something for Christmas, and have been playing Roar by Katy Perry over and over again (and I mean literally on repeat). And to top that off today, they have been playing Christmas songs

Swarley
Posh bugger? Southerness not good enough? TBF a trip to Southerness would have been about 10 times more expensive!
19QOS19
Surprised the rage being generated regarding the escalators! To be fair, the whole point of a moving staircase is so you don't have to walk, if you were designed for you to walk then they would surely just put in a set of stairs. Chill guys, better arriving late and alive than not arriving at all

But surely you must have a run down caravan park somewhere in Australia?
19QOS19
People who start a sentence with the word "So" when explaining something. I don't mind it in this type of context; "So if you need that done, then friday will be the best time..." I mean it like this; "So I was out last night and we had just went to this new place..." Another irritating American trait that has slowly worked it's way over here. Another American one (although arguably more Australian) is people who finish the last word of a sentence on a high. No way of giving an example on that one as it's sound. Drives me funking nuts though and I cringe when I hear it
Swarley
I know, I know was only kidding! But surely you must have a run down caravan park somewhere in Australia? Nah its all milk, honey, Garden of Eden stuff round here. I think the worst caravan park I've visited was in a town called Ayr in Queensland. It was so bad that we left after 5mins and drove another 50kms to a different town.
