Australia 240-4 to 263 all out. Wood tearing through them.

Some day yet again.  Australia are 2-0 up, but they could just as easily be 2-0 down.  Two very evenly matched teams, and an absolutely tremendous series so far.

Torn between being pleased at Scotland exceeding expectations and equally furious at absolutely fucking blowing it against the Netherlands.

Would really love the closed shop that is international cricket to be absolutely fucking torpedoed and it to become a genuine worldwide sport. I can't even pretend that the thought of England playing Australia YET AGAIN holds much appeal to a neutral. Put a new record on, I'd like to hear something different.

Couldn't follow live because work, but knew we'd lose, any big one off game and the bottle goes.

Surprised by how well we fared overall TBH - but is it because the associates are getting stronger or more to do with the test minnows getting weaker?....

Bit of both imo, certainly had no expectations going into this but there have been some very good individual performances, obviously McMullen being the pick of the bunch.

With hindsight it might have been better if it had been a must win game this morning, the fact a narrow defeat might have done might have brought a bit of indecision into the way they played.

You wonder if the Windies can get much worse than they are at the moment, can't blame the guys who have chased the cash in the various T20s, but it has decimated their domestic game.

Tuesday was essentially a one-off big game as well since whoever lost it was eliminated, and they kept their bottle perfectly well and won that.

They've basically been playing knock-out cricket since the first game of the tournament, because it was always unlikely they'd beat four Test playing nations on the bounce so you had to assume they lose at least once, and two losses would see them fail to qualify.

I don't really understand why there are a few people who can't seem to grasp that winning every single game was always implausible. If yesterday had been the first game of the tournament, the same outcome, and then Scotland went on to repeat every single other result they'd be regarded as having totally overperformed v's expectation.

While I agree with this, the comparison above with Partick Thistle's promotion push was a good one. An initial outside bet yet fell apart with the prize in sight.
