That was a good article. We all know what the Yanks are like, are their fans getting worse ? Is it because of having no crowds for so long ? Is it the social media/Barstool effect ?

This Bryson/Brooks thing looking like it's going to affect the Ryder Cup team.

If I was Stricker, I'd be benching both of them until the singles.

Based on what we saw tonight Cantlay and DeChambeau would be a brilliant pairing in the 4 ball format.

Be very surprised if DeChambeau features in the alternate shot foursomes.

Cantlay and Bryson don't like each other.

Bryson and Brooks don't like each other.

Brooks and DJ don't like each other.

Everyone likes JT, Speith and Tony Finau.

Except for Patrick Reed. He doesn't like anybody and nobody likes him.

Calum Hill inside the top 100 of the world after his 3rd top ten finish in a row at the weekend.
He was 97th after his win at the Cazoo Classic, then dropped out the top 100 the following week when he didn't play.

Would love to know what he did differently that helped his game suddenly click.

He missed the cut at the Irish and Scottish Opens, then was 62nd at the Cazoo Open at Celtic Manor followed by another missed cut in Northern Ireland.

With no decent form to speak of he then finishes 4th at the Hero Open when he had a very good chance to win it, then brushes off that disappointing final day to win the next week.

As far as the Race to Dubai goes, Scots are currently as follows:

MacIntyre at 13th
Hill at 22nd
Forrest at 37th
Ramsay at 64th
Syme at 80th
Warren at 93rd
Law at 110th
Drysdale at 125th
Jamieson at 133rd
Gallacher at 146th

126th and above is the current provisional cutoff point for players to keep their European Tour card. Drysdale is only 4 points away from dropping below the line.

Yep. The Bryson/Brooks thing does neither of them any favours. It's way past the stage of being tiresome and is frankly utterly boring IMHO.

IIRC Spieth and Thomas both played with Reed in the practice sessions in 2018, and both made it clear it wouldn’t be happening in the main event!

I think Finau is the unfortunate one here, he’s so nice he’ll end up being paired with one of the bellends.

Beer and empty heads never makes a good combination. As much as I detest Bryson he doesn't deserve a lot of the crap he is having to put up with.

I thought Ferguson and Howie were the only Scottish players in there?
Ferguson a certainty to qualify and it would need a freak set of results for Howie not to make it also.
A typo, should have been 2. No other Scots even close to getting a card. Still lots of points on offer, Ferguson got 22k for a second place last week.

down to the wire

An epic storyline unfolded just outside of Baltimore at the weekend, as Pat Cantlay proved a tough cookie to crack in Maryland, eventually punishing Bryson DeChambeau's below par putting at the 6th extra hole.

High up in the Swiss Alps, young Danish sensation Rasmus Højgaard brought home the bacon and the European Masters, a 3rd tour win already for the 20 year old. Going by this picture he's also won the Champions League too. Incredible stuff.

We've reached the end of the 20/21 season on the PGA tour and as is now tradition, the best 30 players battle it out for the Tour Championship at Atlanta's historic East Lake G.C.

A genuinely special place, designed by one of the all time great architects Donald Ross, it fell into disrepair in the 70's and 80's, but it's revival in the 90's was key to the regeneration of the local area which was synonymous with poverty and drugs, but the course is most famous for it's association with the great Bobby Jones, who played his first and last ever rounds here.

1.5x bonus points available at East Lake, with the small feild, someone might be able to run up a big score.

A spot of culture on the European Tour this week as we're at Marco Simone G.C. just outside of Rome for the Italian Open. It's a lovely course, that will be hosting the Ryder Cup in 2023, although it is due to have a few alterations before then. Tommy Fleetwood leads the field, with a few still looking for a pizza the Ryder Cup action before the team is finalised.

8 of my squad have made the final 30, so hopeful of a decent points haul this week.
