They've thrown a lot of money at the national side and the Sunwolves, and they've 'nationalised' a large number of non-Japanese to strengthen their squad with precisely this point in time in mind. I wouldn't call today a failure. The way the team came back in the second half shows that this team has fight, and tbh we had by hardest the pool with Japan as 3rd seed. What is worrying is a pattern of dropping out of matches for periods....whether it's losing tries in the first 5 minutes or failing to compete when being put under pressure. Sadly, it's become a trademark of Scotland under Townsend. Is he the man to continue in charge ?
