dogmc
It's fairly clear that none of these Munster players ever played away at Strathclyde Police, or they wouldn't lie there for as long as they do. Christ you opened up some mental scars with that one !! As a student player I always wondered what a game between Strathclyde polis n Strathclyde fire brigade would be like.....the Rwanda genocide would be the nearest approximation though with much worse weather.
afca32
My first season following Super Rugby since 2011. Taken a while to get used to the format and get up to speed on the younger players. Caught up on highlights from last two weekends today and there was some brilliant entertainment, definitely justifying my decision to get back into it. Went to check the tables now and noticed the rumours about cutting teams is true. FFS.

Was also great to see the Sunwolves get a win.

Big Naiyaravoro charging through from 40 metres last weekend was another highlight.

South Africa struggled to fill 5 teams before they went up to 6 so them doping down to 4 should make them more competitive. The Australian rugby union don't have the money for 5 teams. I hope they improve some the refs as some of them make he Pro12 refs look good.

Aye I understand the reasoning but find it a bit frustrating. The Cheetahs, although often the whipping boys, were good entertainment when I followed Super 14 and 15. The South African teams do look weak right now, especially given I watched the Bulls dominating in 2010 and '11, and concentrating on a smaller number of teams probably will help.
HoBNob
Adam Hastings will join Glasgow in the summer When I watched him for Bath I thought he looked cracking.
Eednud
Looks like the Western Force for the chop in Australia but really should be the Melbourne Rebels. Think the fact the Rebels is privately owned and the ARU own the Force will mean the ARU will take the easier option. They really should dump both sides though as their introduction hasn't benefited Australian.

Bully Wee Villa
They should add a Pacific Islands team.
ajwffc
They should add a Pacific Islands team. I don't think it will happen without major outside investment. I don't think the Blues hierarchy would be to happy as they could lose a large part of their fanbase
peasy23
Grayson Hart will be teaming up with Rory Clegg at Ealing in the summer. Insert "comedy" joke here....
come on shire
You can't play a weak side in Dublin and game vs Edinburgh is an important derby so I reckon Hart will start vs Zebre as his final appearance. George Horne to be on bench imo. If we get 5th we get 3rd pot in Europe so winning BP required.

I know basically nothing about rugby in Australia but doesn't Melbourne have the reputation for being the 'sports' city?

jmothecat
I went to see Melbourne Storm when I was there, but I'm fairly sure that was League not Union. Went to see some AFL as well, mental sport but very enjoyable.
come on shire
I lived in Mebourne. Defo a sports city. During the summer it's all cricket. In winter AFL and Rugby League's Melbourne Storm are the 2 big crowd pullers with "soccer" gaining a substantial foothold too. However, there's a limited interest in Union and the Rebels results probably shows that. I have a soft spot for them but I thought it would be them and not Perth's Western Force in for the chop. Eednud
The Rebels play home games at AAMI Park as do the Storm and both the A-League teams, Victory & City, apart from some big games that are usually moved to Etihad Stadium. Largest crowd pullers at AAMI are Victory, then the Storm and probably close call between City & the Rebels. The Western Force have issued a writ a to try to stop the ARU giving them the chop. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-04-10/western-force-lodges-writ-against-aru/8432540 » MOST RECENT ATTENDANCES CROWD DATE SPORT EVENT 9,238 07/04/17 Football A-League: Melbourne City v Adelaide 17,011 02/04/17 Football A-League: Melbourne Victory v Wellington 15,223 01/04/17 Rugby League NRL: Storm v Panthers 8,142 24/03/17 Rugby Union Super Rugby: Rebels v Waratahs 8,949 18/03/17 Football A-League: Melbourne City v Newcastle 16,344 16/03/17 Rugby League NRL: Storm v Broncos 16,814 11/03/17 Football A-League: Melbourne Victory v Perth 19,035 25/02/17 Football A-League: Melbourne Victory v Adelaide 10,706 24/02/17 Football A-League: Melbourne City v Sydney 10,265 23/02/17 Rugby Union Super Rugby: Rebels v Blues 8,414 11/02/17 Football A-League: Melbourne City v Brisbane 8,784 19/01/17 Football A-League: Melbourne City v Central Coast 21,103 13/01/17 Football A-League: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane 10,731 06/01/17 Football A-League: Melbourne City v Western Sydney 20,491 28/12/16 Football A-League: Melbourne Victory v Central Coast
jmothecat
Off topic always wondered who supports Melbourne City. Melbourne Victory have been established for a few years, so surely everyone who likes football in Melbourne will be supporting them. So unless people converted to support the other side I can't see where they will get their support base from.
