My wildcard guess, using no logic whatsoever, is Tamwar. He has just been an irrelevance for about 3 years and seems to potter about without purpose and seems a right weirdo to boot. it would make sense to 1) bring him into a big storyline and 2) use it as an excuse to write him out of the soap. She drops Lucy's bag on the way. Ben and Jay find it. That's why when Ben brings round the purse and phone Jane sticks it under the floorboards. Jane took Bobby away to protect him. She then goes on to end Lucy instead. Next day after "hearing" about Lucy's death, decides to stay with Ian. Love that theory .
