  1. Ultimately these people want to destroy the Welfare State, take us back to unfetterd Capitalism - see you at the Soup Kitchen!
  2. I see Tom Watson is keeping a low profile for the present....
  3. Boris going for a blinking contest with the EU!
  4. At present the Tories are not a "broad church" but a "single issue party. RD chose to marginalize BJ by not letting him speak at the Scottish Tories conference in May and then not choosing him at each stage in the leadership contest, I suspect she's no longer the up&comer she was two years ago but who knows perhaps BJs govt. will implode in the Autumn and she may (sic) regain the lost ground. Totally bizarre that BJ seems to be undermining the most successful leader the Scottish Tories have had in a generation (even if she did have a bit of help from Kez) undermining the party up here when the result of the next election is unfathomable as long as the Brexit Paraty remain a force and the likely best result for the Tories is a narrow majority but what isn't bizarre about UK politics at present?
  5. In the immediate aftermath of the 2017 election but it hasn't been mentioned in the media for a while - I suspect she's been "fun oot". Some of the BS from that period was top notch like the following but like I said above I think she's burned her bridges with BJ & the current crew in charge of the Tories.
  6. Surprised with RDs current line but possibly she realises she's burned her bridges with Johnson so might as well put as much clear blue (sic) water between herself & Bojo.
  7. As long as Thomas is still the Ineos's best placed rider, Bernal has made up 59 seconds in the two mountain stages since the TT. Unsurprisingly Thomas's body language was a lot more positive in the post-stage interviews than the previous two days. All to ride for in the Alps for Alaphillipe, Thomas, Pinot & Bernal.
  8. Trump will stoke the economy so that any downturn doesn't happen till 2021, double down on the fundamentalist/redneck vote and accuse whatever Democrat candidate emerges of being part of the liberal elite/swamp - I wouldn't bet against him winning a second term.
  9. Turning into an interesting day with quite a few of the GC riders having to work hard to make it back to the leading group.. Pinot group failed to make it back to the Yellow Jersey & has lost over a minute...
  10. Just like '66 I can live my life in denial of England winning the World Cup!
  11. Then if there is no manager, or effectively no manager with OK being out of favour, things do stand still. I understand your point I was just saying that GLS said the appointment of GM as DoF was to prevent this happening again after last season. All managers come into a rump of existing players if you trust the DoF method then you accept his judgement, if not then as I said GM is effectively just an overpaid Chief Scout.
  12. That sounds more like a Chief Scout to me, when GM was announced as DoF the club statement was. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45564078
  13. As people get older they get more Conservative - doesn't this nullify the above argument?
  14. We took a while to gel after the break & IIRC lost heavily a few times but even then Hladky looked good and when we had gelled his value was apparent making saves that improved results. I have no idea how this will play out but £200k is way too low compared to what Hladky will be able able to deliver on field this season.
  15. Maybe OK was willing to sanction the transfer fee (before he fell out with GLS) hence why Poppy came over last week but JG was unwilling to do the same.
  16. I think this will be one of those occasions when a broken clock tells the correct time.
  17. Like I've said previously there's no doubt OK tried to bounce the club into modifying his working conditions but this is 2019 times are supposed to be more family friendly and communications are good enough these days to make it workable, I feel the club GLS would have been better off accepting OK requests but asking for some guarantees in return (and I accept we can't know if or how far we went down this road) but for me the blame lies with GLS. On a side note I noticed OK thanked Tony in his goodbye tweet, I'm not sure if that's what Tony really needs given he has to stay on at the club & work with GLS!
  18. I would disagree it seems pretty clear OK has tried to bounce the club into accepting his terms for the new season but I reckon GLSs reaction is mostly about keeping his alpha-male status at the club. This will be a costly series of outcomes from this ill-timed decision but more importantly we're breaking up a set-up which despite some shaky moments provided us with a great end to last season.
  19. Wasn't appointing a DoF supposed to stop us going into limbo under these circumstances?
  20. I thought Blackford would've been better keeping his powder dry until Boris is the one facing PMQs, Treeeeza was never going to condemn him (Boris) but the uproar from the Tories in and out of the House might just about have made it worthwhile!
  21. Wonder how those assessments will go.
  22. That takes us into the party conference season so really just October to sort something out!
