  2. Watching the Queen's Park 6-0 highlights, Stevie looks like a shadow of the player he was for us. Defeated body language. It's odd it seems to have worked out so poorly for him at TFS, I really thought he would do well. The way Sheerin has used him has negated a lot of his qualities (aggressive offensive defence, mobility) and the captaincy doesn't seem to have fitted well with him. Obviously there's an effect from the general malaise there also, but just goes to show again how a player who is brilliant at one club can be a failure at another.
  3. And Bazza and Big Bob Malcolm are welcome to move to Paisley to maintain the cycle.
  4. It is relative of course; you were in a relatively shite league to the one you are in now. The names you mention were mostly exciting young players BECAUSE THEY WERE PLAYING IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Apart from McGinn, none of them has gone on to achieve much. It was a shite Rangers team and a relegated Hearts side you were, apparently, going toe to toe with. We, Alloa, beat you twice IIRC, while you were at that level. It's a huge mistake to sack Ross IMO, given his record at every club he's been at (including Hibs so far, alleged "beige" football notwithstanding), with the exception of Sunderland who are a complete basket case of a club, at which, in any case, his record compares favourably with the other poor souls who have attempted to get them out of division one.
  5. Are you seriously volunteering the views of Sunderland fans as in any way relevant/worth taking any notice of. If you're genuinely happier being second in the Championship rather than third in the Premiership (and regularly appearing in cup semis/finals) then that's your choice. Football fans are weird creatures at times.
  6. Indeed and I don't think he will get a like for like replacement, someone who will score a goal a game, with several of those strikes being individual efforts. Barry could, however, bring in a player who holds the ball up and links play to bring the other talented attacking players we have into the game in dangerous situations, helping make up for the missing goals that way. Of course that also means organising the team, and I'm including the entire midfield here, to facilitate those players (Trouts, Kev, Boyd, Scougall and, even, Sena) doing that but, as several have pointed out, that isn't happening consistently at the moment.
  7. I used to love watching Gary play. I remember the manager picking him at right back against Falkirk and Arthur Grant at the Recs. I feared a roasting for him, we all knew what a quality winger wee Grant was and Gary was a midfielder. First time Arthur got the ball he turned back and passed the ball, then with perfect timing just after the ref had looked away, Gary gives him a right sore kick on the knee. Didn't want to know all game after that.
  8. Drew Paterson tore most left backs he faced apart. ☺ I think I remember being surprised that Stuart Munro took the penalty, can't remember who I was expecting to take it though. Think Robert Gray (?) scored a pen in the reverse fixture.
  9. Cracking draw, both financially and from a football/interest point of view. How will the Celtic defence cope with Kev, Scougs and Hendo? How will Kyogo cope with big Nandy?
  10. We weren't really on poor form, the defeat to Dumbarton was our first in five games, with most of those against the top sides in the division. I wasn't there yesterday, but like others I felt this was a potential banana skin, so great to win so convincingly. As Fatherbarry' says Bonnyrigg clearly couldn't handle the class and pace of Henderson, Scougall etc al.
  11. Which is ridiculous. The manager was a top midfielder himself, yet cannot see what an improvement Robbo would be in his best position in the middle.
  12. Four at home in the league, three of which were in the first half. We've picked up one point from those four games.
  13. I'm assuming you don"t spend much time on the Falkirk FC forum either then.
