  1. Do Pollok still own Lok's bar and the function suite beside it? If those buildings were sold when they stopped being their social club (I assume anyway?) it likely limits their options.
  2. Not even open for debate then that Spartans are already Champions so people linked with the league talking up any other scenario are just trying to camoflague how abnormal things are with the guest clubs on board.
  3. No argument there but I don't think there is any cooperation between the SJFA and EoS on this but a handful of EoS clubs still enter. LL clubs having floodlights would help a bit on home cup ties compared to what is happening in an EoS context with that issue. Guess the main problem would be what to do when an away SJC tie clashes with an LL fixture on a Saturday. Most clubs would probably be happy to simply take the walkover but maybe neutral venues under floodlights midweek could be arranged for that scenario if a collective decsion was made that it was something that has to be accomodated?
  4. ...so Talbot could still enter as one of the "member clubs of the Association" after promotion to the LL assuming there is nothing in the LL constitution preventing them from still being in the SJFA.
  5. Clubs like your own benefited for decades from access to pools money, SFA, SFL and SPFL handouts and much easier access to large government grants. It's not reasonable to expect clubs emerging from a junior football background by way of the Lowland League to have comparable facilities to the clubs that enjoyed those advantages when the SFL was operating as a closed shop cartel.
  6. My understanding was that it is the club that is declared champion that gets into the playoffs: https://spfl.co.uk/pages/rules-and-regulations “SLFL Champion” means the club playing in the SLFL in any Season (excluding any ‘Guest’, ‘colt’, ‘B’ ‘second’, ‘reserve’ or like or equivalent team which is part of a Club participating in the same Season in the SPFL and which shall not, under any circumstances, be considered to be eligible to receive the title of SLFL Champion or any other title related to its position in said league, or qualify for or be eligible for participation in the Pyramid Play-Off Competition at the end of any such Season) which is declared the Champion club of the SLFL based on the criteria specified in the rules of the SLFL;
  7. ^^^some people on here were trying to explain this issue to him years ago and were met with a barrage of abuse for doing so. Meanwhile whoever handles the LL twitter doesn't appear to understand the league's rulebook: Spartans are already champions because guest teams are not able to be even if they finish with the most points. Or maybe I am missing something?
  8. The Ukrainians: are ripping off the Finns:
  9. The LL's membership 5 years from now will be significantly different from what it is now and the former junior clubs who are most likely to joining from below are used to having divisions where three up three down is the norm.
  10. Are you aware that it already came very close to being sorted towards the end of last season?
  11. Why would those two issues be linked? Once some more former junior clubs get in and the clubs that have zero hope of ever getting back after being relegated are gone it will be fixed.
  12. No need to worry about losing out on away supports after being promoted to the LL judging by some of those numbers.
  13. How do you think Dalbeattie Star drew 2-2 with Celtic B last week? That was a league rather than a cup game that could potentially have determined who got relegated this season.
  14. SJFA website also has that. https://www.scottishjuniorfa.com/east-region/east-region-midlands-league/results/
  15. You might be a wee bit biased on this being from Lossiemouth. Brechin's problem is how long they can sustain paying extra to central belt players of the necessary calibre to do all the travelling. Four more midweek games to accomodate having Elgin aboard wouldn't do them any favours from that standpoint. If they don't do it this season they need Elgin around like a hole in the head.
  16. After being relegated they would be able to sign local players that don't fancy midweek travel to the central belt. In a Highland League with no Caley or Thistle around who is left to challenge them at this point?
  17. Have you watched Buckie Thistle, Spartans or Brechin City this season or is this just what you want to be the case? The problem Club 42 has is that they are trying to get a bunch of players that know they are probably about to be on a free transfer away from the club they are playing for to care deeply about the outcome while playing against a team that are on a high from just winning a league championship.
  18. Not aware of that happening. Think you probably misinterpreted what was happening last season. It has always been only one year at a time.
  19. Not sure what you are referring to? Permission is given on this one season at a time according to the LL constitution.
  20. Guest teams have to be voted in every year so a vote of that type is in no way surprising
  21. If the LL and/or HL refuse to sign off on the pro/rel rule changes that are required then it's almost certainly not happening. No more news means that has probably already been intimated to the SFA.
  22. You might be able to count the crowd at certain parts of this clip:
  23. There's also a footballing argument about not wanting too many league fixtures very early on before new signings have settled into a team's preferred system.
  24. It's not clear how keen they are on promotion though so Buckie are the opponent Club 42 would likely most want to face. Spartans and Brechin City would be 100% gung ho about going for it.
  25. A BBC story about an activist having to flee after checking the details of war graves in Krasnodar which is overwhelmingly ethnic Russian (many were identifying as Ukrainian there in Lenin's time but Stalin put a stop to that) : https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-65213426 Don't doubt certain minorities like the Tuvans (Shoigu is half-Tuvan) and Buryat Mongols are disproportionately winding up dead courtesy of Vlad's SMO but so are plenty of ethnic Russians, Wagner's cannon fodder from the prison system included.
