  1. Just as quickly back to level par and 5th place. Reed starts the back 9 with bogey and double bogey and that leaves Wolff out in front with a 3 shot lead.
  2. Matteo Manaserro won a third tier tourney in the Alps. https://www.skysports.com/golf/news/12176/12076020/matteo-manassero-claims-first-win-since-2013-with-alps-tour-title
  3. This is only his 7th round in a major, yesterday was the first he had played over par. TV coverage is so predictable. We've hardly seen Schauffele, and suddenly he pops up on screen with a birdie effort from off the green. You just knew it was going in the hole before he has even hit it.
  4. That was harsh on de Gea. But fucking hilarious.
  5. That's a stinker of a penalty, easy save for de Gea..
  6. Shifted him about 30 places up the leaderboard. He birdied the last just after I posted for a back 9 of 30.
  7. Only 3 players on the course under par today at Winged Foot and they have only played a few holes holes. Plenty scores of 73/74 and above.
  8. Surprised he got finished last night tbh. 3 majors, 3 cuts made for him, great stuff. Connor Syme was +10, but can take some comfort from matching Tiger's score and faring better than several major champions. Sandy Scott was +9.
  9. My mate messaged me earlier. His missus was asking how to get Netflix on their TV. This is their remote control.....
  10. Monthly medal/autumn meeting at Bishopbriggs. Good weather forecast. Last few groups at Winged Foot won't finish tonight, MacIntyre and Scott among them
  11. I always thought he was a twat, but I followed him for 4 or 5 holes at Troon in a practice round and the golf he played was phenomenal. What was particularly impressive was how far he could shape the ball both left and right.
  12. Will be surprised if Reed gets through the rest of his round without slipping down the leader board, although he has just birdied 16 (his 7th hole). Cut line currently +5 which is where McIntyre sits just now, can see that sliding to at least +6.
  13. Quite entitled to kill him imo. I would object to playing with him again on the grounds that he can't be trusted to fill in a scorecard properly. Be interesting to see how everybody is doing it. We mark our own scorecard, and one of your playing partners keeps a note of your score in the "marker's score" column with your initials at the top. You then agree both scores match after the round, sign your card, input it on HDID, then stick your card in the box. Still been plenty of DQs, because some folk are too fkn stupid to follow those relatively simple instructions. . I did have a good chuckle a few weeks back when it flagged up on HDID that somebody had a hole in one on the first. Fair enough, except it is a 360 yard dogleg par 4. Another DQ as they had managed to enter a 1 instead of a 4.
  14. Today's pin positions. 11 out of 18 are 5 yards or less from the edge of the green. The R&A and USGA guidelines both state 4 yards from the edge should be the bare minimum, holes 1 and 6 are only 3 yards.
  15. The players aren't getting paid just now.
  16. It's quite a long story, but worth it for the punchline.
  17. 2006 at Winged Foot there were only 16 under par rounds in total. There were 21 yesterday. Fully expect the greens to he left to bake and some farcical pin positions over the weekend.
  18. "The indicative start date for the new season was scheduled for Saturday 10th October. This however can not be confirmed as a Scottish Government review is due on Thursday 1st October. This review will affect our ability to commence with the new season, with any changes identified coming into force from Monday 5th October. Therefore the IMG are recommending that the indicative date for the start of the new league season be put back by 3 weeks, in line with the timescale of policy reviews by the Scottish Government, to Saturday 31st October. This however MAY change depending on the impact any future announcements from the Scottish Government would have on clubs ability to start the season." Last week the IMG told us 10th October was almost certainly not a realistic option for starting the leagues. This week we get issued a fixture list starting on that date. What changed in the meantime?
  19. You have to applaud the Windies, Pakistan and Australia for making the effort to come over to play this summer. It would have been very easy just to say it was going to be too much hassle and stay at home. Been some excellent cricket and from England's point of view two huge personal milestones for Anderson and Broad.
  20. Morgan gambled everything on Starc not reading the googly and holing out to somebody with a catch. Fair play to Starc though for howking the first ball he faced over the rope for 6.
