This was a strange one, as far as I know it's a female pheasant. It was taken in my back garden on Boxing Day 2010 in the middle of the very bad winter, can only guess it was desperate for food but it's not the sort of thing you normally see in a Glasgow garden.
My cousin is one of the directors of the festival. They were very worried as to how it would go moving from the city centre venue at the Arches out to Hampden, but the tickets sold out in no time.
Not perfect, as it was just a case of grab the camera and click, but although we get plenty of birds like robins, dunnocks, coal tits etc, last week was the first time we've seen goldfinches in our garden.
Can't see any of them jumping at the England job tbh. Jake White could be worth a punt at 3/1. Certainly a kick in the balls for up and coming English coaches when they say that international experience is a must, Rob Baxter for example has done a great job at Exeter.
Pakistan need 57 from 84 balls with 6 wickets in hand. Topley has been excellent for England taking 3 wickets, including two lbws, the left hander was getting a terrific line bowling over the wicket.
Ardennes 1944: Hitler's Last Gamble by Antony Beevor
More of the same from the award winning historian, this time about Hitler's attempt to burst through Belgium and split the allied forces in two.
England rack up 342-8 from their 50 overs in the ODI warm up against Hong Kong.
New Zealand still hanging on into day 5 of their Test very Australia after the rain washed out a hefty chunk of day 4.
Sam Burgess returns to the Rabbitohs bringing his brief union career to an end. Feel a bit of sympathy for him, the whole circus around him was not of his making tbf. Imo if he had been given time to learn to play at centre he could have been a good player for England in the future, but to try and fast track him into the team ahead of the World Cup was shambolic. Trying to fit him into the back row was never going to work, I don't know how anybody could realistically expect him to learn how to contest breakdowns in such a short space of time.
