  1. I’d like to be annoyed by this, but realistically anything that prevents Michael Max from commentating should probably be applauded.
  2. November 2061 Well, for a dead rubber that was very enjoyable. I have no idea how it happened, but I'm pleased that it did. Glorious. So, we've finished sixth.. Hooray. My attack is quite good, so I have a few months now to find a goalkeeper, defence and midfield. Latvia I'm sure that first result would have gone down really well in Moscow. We were two down within four minutes and then brought it back. They battered us for the rest of the game, but we defended quite well and they missed a few decent chances. Lost a last minute goal against Georgia, which was a shame, but f**k it. Two points, which is par for the course for a Latvia qualification attempt. Hopefully we'll get better next time round.
  3. October 2061 A really shite opening to the month, but we rescued it in the end. f**k knows what happened in that RTU game though, excluding that match they've managed 30 goals in 34 games this season, and only managed more than a single goal 8 times. Season's over, basically. We're staying up, have one more game and it's a complete dead rubber away at Riga. Will we finish 6th or 7th? The excitement is palpable. Latvia As highlighted above, we managed a point! North Macedonia, as it turns out, are a very decent side. They've not got anyone incredibly good, but they don't have any utter diddies either - the worst players in their team play in Sweden and Bulgaria, so fair enough. The draw against Albania was great, and we actually deserved it more or less, so that's very pleasing. Means I won't be finishing the group with zero points, so I'll take that. Belgium all but through, North Macedonia in with a decent shot at a playoff. We won't be pointless. Games against Russia and Georgia still to come. I also found this guy, who I'm desperately trying to persuade to play for me. I can't even see his stats, but the ones I can see, the youth caps for Argentina and the fact he's playing regularly at a not-shit level of football would make him my best player. He's not having it just yet, but I'll wear him down.
  4. Get it right up ye, the entire Albanian media.
  5. I know you’ve said we’re too negative about Scotland, but f**k it, I’ll ask anyway - what’s your least favourite things about Scotland and living here? And is there anything you miss about Derby/Darlington that you can’t get here (other than the friends, I assume)?
  6. Can’t believe we’ve just watched St Johnstone draw with fucking Galatasaray. Mental. Fair play lads. Real shame you couldn’t be there, but the home leg will be incredible.
  7. Is Eritrea the one that withdrew from international competitions for a bit because their footballers kept claiming asylum? Eswatini - this boy is the best I can find with a handful of African games medals in the marathon. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Mabuza
  8. I may be wrong and mixing him up with someone else, but I thought he was more in the Conor Murray mould of being relatively neat on the ball and always looking skilful, but not particularly quick or having a huge amount of end product.
  9. Was McDaid not getting pretty regular games for Dundee at the end of last season? I assume he’s dropped out the picture for them again? I think he’s pretty pish but McCall worked with him before so fine. Would rather someone with some pace to address the fact that Tiffoney is the only guy in our squad with some. Hopefully we’re getting a centre half, a full back and at least one winger.
  10. Genuinely, I thought that the vast majority of people with an interest in Scottish football would have heard of Andrew Watson. And the idea that Mo Johnson was welcomed by Rangers fans It happened five years before I was born and even I know that’s utter nonsense.
  11. “Just give Rangers what they want” Cheers Charlie, I’m sure the SPFL couldn’t have thought of that themselves.
  12. I saw that too, and then I had a look at the companies listed as official or associate partners on the Rangers website and I can’t work out which of them it could possibly be - like, none of them are in any way competitors of cinch or even remotely related to cinch, unless NordVPN or Unibet are quietly doing second hand car sales on the side.
  13. Hopefully Spurs refuse to sell him and Kane ends up doing a Peter Odemwingie for maximum entertainment value.
  14. Rhys Breen looked worse for us than Lewis Mayo did at centre half, and he was playing at a lower level. He appears to have done fine at Queen of the South, so fair play to him, but I certainly wouldn't have been thrilled if we'd brought him back.
  15. September 2061 Genuinely can't believe how well that month went. RFS are the runaway leaders of the league, by a country mile the best side, and we swatted them aside with absolute ease. Metta are a team very similar to ourselves, and again we were 3-0 up before having to tighten up when they threatened to come back. The two games against Ventspils were weird, they thrashed us for the first half hour of the first game, and looked lightyears ahead of us, but for the remaining hour of that and the full second game we were probably the better side, despite only having 10 men when we scored in the second. Very, very pleasing nonetheless. I'm prepared to call it and say that we will be staying up this season. Not mathematically secured yet, but being realistic RTU aren't going to catch us. Hopefully pick up a few more wins but my attention has firmly turned to building next season's squad. Latvia Disappointing. We competed well against Belgium, but obviously we were never going to actually win that one. Took the lead against Georgia, and were doing well but then we had a five minute period in the second half where we just collapsed, conceded twice and never really got going again. That game was, I think, my best chance to get some points on the board as well, so really frustrating. Aye, bottom with no points. The only thing I'll say is, of the teams seeded sixth, we have the toughest group and are the only ones who haven't taken any absolute pumpings yet - although both Malta and Andorra have managed to pick up some points.
  16. I realise that the chats moved on, but just wanted to take the opportunity to mention how much I love Tam Cerny. The greatest practitioner of general shitehousery that has ever lived. Once got a penalty for Motherwell (I’m pretty certain) overturned just by shouting at the referee until he changed his mind. Absolutely iconic.
  17. Italy v Japan at the Confederations Cup in 2013 was a belter - it was 4-3 to one of them, can’t mind which.
  18. If there’s one thing that’ll definitely help the SPFL negotiate a better sponsorship deal, it’ll be having their current sponsorship deal very publicly fall apart leaving them scrambling around looking for a new one. Can’t see any way that doesn’t put them in a position of strength in negotiations.
  19. A bit of classic Sean McGinty leading to that chance there
  20. There we go. I completely forgot Alston played for Killie. f**k knows how someone watched him at Falkirk last season and decided he’d be a good shout up a division.
  21. I don’t know if it would have made any difference, they don’t seem to know how to break Ayr down and actually create chances. Main tactic seems to be getting Burke to cross it in, which isn’t working yet. I think if Killie score one, and Ayr open up at all, they’ll get a few more though.
