  1. I didn't like this when I first heard it but who knows maybe we could do worse than give it a try, teams who are comfortably top in the middle 8, bottom 8 and those out of the running in the top 8 can start fucking about with their squads? who knows, the group of 18 must surely have automatic relegations to the highland and lowland tho? or it will be even more stagnant with perma-diddys
  2. we've been playing like pressleys 12/13 season for weeks now, at least that squad were all about 17 and weighed 9 stone between them, whats this lots excuse? other than gallacher and o'hara who its too early to call I cant see any of the rest of our squad going any further than a mid table spfl side. after being touted as the next best thing wee sibs could well end up wishing he stuck in at school. yogi might well have given us great memories of good football, cup finals , skelping the big teams including the old firm and all that but he is also in a way responsible for the utter fuckin pish we had to watch from 2010-2014. never forget he signed the likes of neil McCann Jackie mcnamara burton o brian and lee bullen who were either too auld too shite or both. and had next to no re sale value. As for Houston hes done not too bad for us, but he is your type-cast provincial diddy team manager and as such can only go so far with us and it looks like he has. personaly I'd go for someone young with a bit ore hunger and energy about them , someone who can get us playing fast attacking entertaining fitbaw even at the expense of conceding a few more goals and I'd imagine most would agree. But you know what ? fitbaw fans are a strange bunch, playing great football but not picking up points doesn't take long to get the fans on your back! the last time we tried to break the mold was with gary holt! his signings were questionable but he had presslys team playing 10x better, it was like a breath of fresh air even if only because of what we had seen before that. and that was his first ever go at being the main man. But fans weren't realy buying it. crowds were only up a couple hundred on the season before , 4000 for a playoff semi final at £12 for adults? we had more than that for last weeks snorefest in the freezing cold! I used to be one of those sack the board types but sometimes I even feel a wee bit sorry for them, damned if you do damned if you dont
  3. why do people get worked up tho? tell the truth how many of your neighbours do you know well? there are 34 houses in my street and i know the names of 2 of mine and they are through the wall and across the road, second to that how much do you care about what your neighbours get up to? (so long as theyr not being c***s are breaking the law) i bet the answer is not many and not at all. ive had the discussion with my own mum who isnt so tolerent, she likes to whinge about neighbours of hers not integrating , but who cares? she could not answer when i asked how much of a shite she gives about what all the white people near her get up to. after all its a free country. what is so reasuring about a bus full of white strangers? a street full of white faces you dont know? its just peoples fear of the unkown. after all there arent that many immigrants in Falkirk but none of them have ever done anything to upset me, plenty white people have
  4. first point fair enough my spelling is shite, second one no chance, not racist in the least. simply making an observation , plenty of folk in Scotland go on and on as if we have huge levels of immigration here when we actually have hardly any. imagine what it would be like if we DID have southern English levels of it. personally I couldn't care less if I was the only white man in my street but not everyone would. people who don't have much to say on the topic just now might find they would in that scenario. unless you think we are hugely different to the English ? I don't think we are if we are being totally ohnest.
  5. or the those of immigrant decent swayed in favour of remain? probably not tho , londons vote was more likely to do with money. Riots is probably an overstatement though the way some folk go on about what tiny levels of immigrants we do get (at least compared to down south) if we did get as many as southern England it would get enough folk riled up to at least get a few ukip/bnp msps and councillors voted in.
  6. was wondering this myself, for the whole team actualy now obviously it wont be superstar money we all know that but if these guys are happy to be squad players at a mid table provincial Scottish championship club it must be enough for them to be comfortable otherwise theyd be busting a gut to get noticed and get a move
  7. think if he hadn't got injured he would have been away aswell
  8. Yep think some of the jersey fillers need to go, duno if others agree but I wonder if a good few in our squad would have been good enough for full time football say 10-15 years ago? we should have a strong first 11 with a decent bench and the rest should be academy players. a big squad full of nobodys will just get us into money difficulties again.
  9. vaulks and alston were the only 2 who looked like they were a level above the championship last season, They are now above the championship and we have became rotten side to watch this season , no drive, skills bravery or trickery just the very predictable runs at the back 4 then stop, pass back pass sideways ball to the byline then out cause were too slow. or a long thro into the box we just do not look like a team that's on the up if anything were going backwards. you could even say that 3rd in the league flatters us. I agree that the board seem happy for us to stay where we are so long as the fans dont desert the place, its very short sighted as I think we are still turning up in decent numbers because we had a good couple of seasons and there are decent teams in this league. in a couple of seasons when Dundee utd and hibs are replaced by thistle and Hamilton wel be back to playing in front of 2.5k
  10. see Bayern munich have got arsenal again. same old same old. needs a proper change not back to the old champions only format just something that's a bit less greedy than now
  11. wee bit off topic, what you say might be true in the traditional football heartlands but the big tv audiences with big money are now in asia and America, they are all about big teams playing each other as much as possible
  12. cant see a red bull Livingston happening at all. like has been said you would need to spend in the 10s of millions which although they do have the cash, they would want a return on their investment , which in Scotland means champions league last 16 , plus other domestic trophys. highly unlikely for any team to do that without spending way over the odds to get there. in Germany and Austria domestic prize money is just that bit better along with a higher fanbase to sell the product to.
  13. so that makes the eu a good thing then? pure whataboutery
  14. pretty much agree with this, you've got to be fair. cany just go looking for any excuse to hold a vote it does smack of asking till you get the answer you want. however much you like the idea of it you have to think hard about those in power who are willing to act like that. on the other hand we're all fucked. Snp want another indyref, uk gov is trying their hardest to back pedal over the eu and the eu well theyv got plenty previous for just ignoring what the people want and just carrying on with their agenda regardles
  15. not defending this in any way but if you don't know already that politicians lie (all of them) then you must have been living on another fuckin planet
  16. why the love for the eu anyway? f**k them independence should mean independence. from london AND brussels. theres plenty of countries our size around the world we'd hardly be in uncharted waters
  17. if i was dishface i'd have done that too becuase it would have won if it was allowed. Scotland wasn't ready for a full breakaway but devo max leaves the door open. anyway. be it football or politics il admit im very much glass half empty, still theres no way I can see us winning this, either brexit is a huge disaster which proves the scaremongering right and will make people think the same or worse will happen if we leave the uk. OR brexit works well or even just ok. whilst proving that the scare mongering is bullshit it will make enough people think that the uk isn't so terrible and they will just stick with it rather than risk any potential turmoil. hope im wrong . honestly. just think if they try it again soon we wont get over 50% and then its truly fucked
  18. still with this pish 2 years down the line. nobody voted no who wanted to vote yes. nobody voted no becuase of the vow, nobody voted no becuase we were promised anything. everyone who voted no did so becuase their either british nationalists / football loyalists (small but significant) or becuase they thought that their jobs, pensions , value of their house ,disposable income or all of the above would be adversly affected by independence. that and they put all the eggs in the currency union basket and waffled instead of giving straight answers when the uk played hardball. thats why we lost last time and thats why we'll lose again if we have it soon, doesnt realy matter about the eu or anything else (the sky wont fall in after a hard brexit, no more than it would with scotland leaving the eu!) i dont think the eu or theresa may is important enough to make enough no voters change their mind in such a short space of time, mind. people are bound to be sick of referendums now
  19. my bad, didn't mean that. not realy tho, a lot of people will look at the brexit carnage and think "well if it happened that time it will be worse this time" and theres still not enough people wanting it to pass, over exited trigger happy snp members will f**k the whole thing up for the rest of us
  20. this Is mental, we'll get a hiding again. I realy hope im wrong with that prediction but I just cant see yes winning. pretty much true, not because its a bad idea but because people just believe what they want. as someone who voted yes 2 years ago and who voted to leave the eu its mental how many of yous have switched 180 degrees . 2 years ago the no's were telling us doom, gloom more doom and doom&gloom whilst the yes'ers were crying bullshit & scaremongering. now many (not all) of the yes'ers are desperate for the sky to fall in now that we voted to leave. (we btw because we voted to stay in the uk, and this referendum was already promised before the 2014 vote) loads on here are loving all this brexit turmoil as if to say I told you so. the sky wont fall in, the markets would do the same if we left the uk, they would recover in the end. Britain will leave the eu in some shape or form and less than 50 % of scots will vote for independence if the vote is held in the net 5 years. hiding to nothing, better wait till the times right than f**k it completely
  21. the English championship is not shite, nor is it full of small clubs, this season youv got 2 former European cup winners in it. there is some dross around the bottom half that have access to the tv riches just for being there but youv got to admit that at least 10 clubs maybe more are bigger than anything outside the old firm up here
  22. f**k me i knew a rugby pitch was a wee bit bigger but that realy makes it stand out
  23. The north stand with its 9k is a good view. The south curves away from the park behind the dug outs altho its not the worst in the world. Behind the goals its murder. A corner up the other end and your blind
  24. Think realisticly we can aim for 2nd again. I dont think utd will be any kind of force this season. Hibs will know better than to get involved in the cups and will probably put a weak side out in thd scottish. They should win the league comfortably. 2nd place and another crack at the play offs should be our aim. No shame if we dont manage but we cant write off another season cause theres too many big clubs.
  25. If you like goin for a day on the lash with your mates and having a sing along its fine. For watching football its awfull. Lucky if 20% of the seats have a decent view
