Watched the first 2 episodes, and really interesting. Looking at how the parole board decides on whether prisoners get released or not. Each episode follows a couple of cases, looking back at the original crime and how the prisoners have progressed (or not). Mondays on BBC2. The last episode was about a trans guy with clear mental health issues who was banged up for arson and a guy who bludgeoned a 19 year old girl to death with a hammer for...£20. The latter had been in jail for 15 years and was looking to move to an open prison.

News about a couple being "evicted" from a house they don't live in, or pay for. Apparently they are "seething".

I hope Yogi gets the gig, to save me voting for him in poll after poll here.

I'm doing a public engagement event for kids on Friday afternoon. I got an email about the numbers coming with a wee note at the end to say that the local kids normally have a Lego club at that time, that the venue cancelled for my thing. Got to admit, feel pretty bad for the kids missing out on playing with Lego.

It happened a few years ago. Morrisons was a great shop, reasonably priced, good cafe and all that. Then almost overnight became quite expensive, and the cafe turned to shit.

One colleague is using this in a different way. Her field is construction contracts and ChatGPT gets this stuff wrong. She asked the programme a question about contracts, and it gave her an answer that wasn't up to much. So now she is giving the students an assignment that reads like: here is what ChatGPT said, critically analyse the answer and explain where it is inaccurate.

In November, Falkirk could have played another 90 minutes and not scored. Loads of attacking moves but we never really threatened the goal.

Aside from that fact we won the cup twice, not once; were runners up 3 times and not 2; and Jack Grimmer never played for us, this is spot on.

Two more Tom Baker ones. An enslaved population, ruled over by evil, self-serving masters who have created a pseudo-religion complete with ritualistic sacrifice/execution. The Doctor gets involved with Leela causing the overthrow/destruction of the baddies and freeing the oppressed. This was the storyline in general for both The Sun Makers and Underworld, though in different contexts. having them back to back felt a bit repetitive for me.

We have done this quite a bit over the last year or two.

Quite a timely thread. I'm involved in writing our updated academic misconduct policy and we are debating this very issue. One colleague thinks that, so long as a student properly cites ChatGPT, then there is no problemo. I take a different view - I don't see a difference between a student approaching an essay mill to ask a person to write their essay for them, or using this system.

I've had a couple of dissertation cases where students used essay mills. The problem is, they assume they're getting top notch work. What they tend to get is rubbish.

They forget that 99% of you exists?

I assume they are all cheating b******s unless proven otherwise.
