  1. I didnt do any of that. My comparison was those who say "look at Marv, a great campaigner against discrimination" while ignoring his own mysogyny for which he has a criminal conviction and to my knowledge has never apologised. Sorry if the nuance was lost on you.
  2. Cowan really didnt do any of that. He pointed out that the initial investigation had not found evidence of racism, as claimed by Bartley, and asked him to apologise. This is not quite undermining anti racist initiatives. The main problem here is not the message but the messenger. To have Bartley as the SFA equality advisor, when he has a criminal conviction for intimidating behaviour towards a woman, is a fecking horrendous look, even for the SFA, especially when they are supposedly trying to grow womens football. The anti discriminatory message is undermined by who is delivering it. I fully expect some people on here to now go full in and claim I am some sort of racism apologist, despite abhorring it and calling out other "fans" several times for racism, the fact I even need to say that on here is ridiculous. The wider point, and I think this thread proves it, is that to some fans mysogyny is somehow acceptable - "stop dragging things up from the past" as one poster said. Defending Bartley is like defending Jimmy Savile because he raised lots of money for charity.
  3. I have to say, I think Bartley is a bit of a dick, and i'm saying that as an auld leftie whose been on god knows how many anti racist protests. Tam Cowan made a call on information that was available at the time. No-one got bullied, or complained of it at the time. Now, Bartley claims he was bullied, despite having form himself for aggressive and intimidating behaviour towards a woman. Aye Marv, you'll continue to call out all forms of discrimination. Apart from mysogyny it would seem.
  4. Be a mistake to let Kiltie leave IMO, was fantastic before the World Cup break.
  5. These are exactly the type of games we need to win. Our season won't be defined by matches against Kilmarnock or Ross County.
  6. Hope the wind dies down for tomorrow. It could be a leveller and give Sevco more of a chance.
  7. To be fair, the fact that Killie have 12 points so far is probably down to McInnes having the side fairly well organised. With the squad they have, that points tally is definitely overachieving. Of course, it is on McInnes that the squad is so poor in the first place, even though Killie fans for some reason like to blame Tommy Wright.
  8. We're 4 points better off than we were at the same stage last season, so that does suggest some level of progression. It is like last season, a very tight league, there's only 2 points between 3rd and 8th.
  9. Ah well, these things happen. Sublime finish for the equalizer, so fair play to Clark, the wee shite who I wrote off as a championship level striker when Saintees signed him. I'll keep my mouth shut in future. It was the only attack they had after going down to 10, I thought they would get what they deserved for trying to shitfest their way to a point, sadly not. Still, now on 20 points, 8 clear of the relegation places and more than half way to safety, which is still the first objective for St Mirren. Now onto the easiest of this weeks games.
  10. For Motherwell fans feeling sore after yesterday, I remember a game at Tynecastle maybe 10 to 12 years ago when we were 2-1 up at half time against 10 men, and ended up losing 5-2, i think Rudi Skacel got a hat trick.
  11. We'd also take that. Ideally we'd be looking for four points from our next two games, so a point in the more difficult game of the two would be decent.
  12. Is it that bit where he said "maybe I need to change some personnel" that you are referring to?
  13. From watching the game today, we really need to make a lot of changes. As well as bringing Joe back in I'd go for quicker players up front, given that St Johnstone have three big lumps at centre half and going direct will be easier for them. I'd go a 3-4-1-2 of Carson Fraser Gallagher Shaughnessy Strain Gogic Baccus Tanser Kiltie Greive Brophy
  14. Normally hes good but he does have concentration lapses, he was at fault for the 2nd St Johnstone goal in Perth too.
  15. I honestly think if both you and United had better keepers you wouldnt be in the bottom 2. Sounds like we got out of jail a bit there, next goal will be crucial.
  16. The way the team is named looks like Fraser on the right and Strain on the left.
  17. I know the schools arent very good in East Ayrshire but even a cursory glance at the table shows we have scored 12 to Killie's 11. Armstrong has either scored or assisted them all I believe, apart from the bigot v Hearts. Without him you are fecked.
  18. Careful now, or you'll have Killie fans calling you a weirdo for pointing out their squad isn't very good. They'd better hope Armstrong doesnt get injured, without him they'd have barely scored this season.
  19. We have been poor on the road so far, Tannadice apart, however 3 of the 4 defeats were at Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibs - we hardly ever win at any of those ground. St Johnstone was the only one where we might have been slight favourites. Once we've played at some of the other places where we might be more fancied would be a better time to judge. County away next week is important- type of game we have to win to hope to get into top 6.
  20. The Australian FA released a video this week with the squad condemning Qatar for its treatment of workers and draconian laws particularly around gay rights. There are so many reasons why Qatar should not be hosting this.
  21. I think the issue is that there is a lack of transparency from the Board and SMISA, the non answers over legitimate questions at some of the meetings has been embarrassing, which gives an environment for rumours to thrive. I am encouraged by some of the candidates who have put their name forward, fresh ideas and a critical eye is whats needed IMO.
  22. I hope at least one of the young lads gets in, we need to encourage more young fans, one of the positives recently has been some of the really good work done by the club to try and achieve this. As for big Stu, I get all the arguments that he has had his day - my main current reservation with SMISA is that I think it has become a bit of a clique and not as democratic as I would like, and some of the answers from Needham at previous meetings have been politicians answers to say the least - someone in there to shake things up and provide some scrutiny might not be a bad thing. The danger of course is that it could lead to civil war. So kept in the dark or civil war? Daddy or chips? Difficult decision.
